Joe Manganiello Takes Inspiration From Reputed Hosts For Deal or No Deal Island

During a recent interview with People, Joe Manganiello spoke about hosting the popular reality show Deal Or No Deal Island. The One Tree Hill actor revealed that he had been waiting for the right opportunity in order to flaunt his hosting skills. Manganiello said-

“I was waiting for the right opportunity to happen and this was it. I was asked to be on Survivor at one point. I was offered Fear Factor — not the original, but after Rogan stepped aside, I was offered the next incarnation. So they pitched me the show, [Deal or No Deal Island]. I was like, you have no idea who you’re talking to. I’m a big fan of game shows. One of the huge draws is to see how people interact with each other.”

According to the actor, he has been inspired by Howie Mandel, the previous host of the original Deal Or No Deal, Survivor host Jeff Probst, former Fear Factor host and UFC Commentator Joe Rogan, and Dan Cortes of MTV Sports fame. Joe Manganiello said-

“I also thought about Joe Rogan a lot, when you look back to Fear Factor and watching people in uncomfortable situations. Also, Dan Cortes, MTV Sports. He was the OG. I’m from Pittsburgh and he comes over and watches the Steelers games at my house. I always tell him, ‘You’re a big inspiration for me.’ That’s probably an amalgamation of Frankenstein’s monster of all four of them.”

The spin-off series deals with 13 contestants competing against each other on a private island to uncover briefcases with millions. Deal Or No Deal Island premieres on NBC and Fubo on February 26, 2024.

Joe Manganiello Wishes To Be A Part Of Sam Raimi’s Upcoming Project Avengers: Secret Wars

Sam Raimi’s Avengers: Secret Wars is one of the biggest crossovers of all the MCU characters. Joe Manganiello played the character of Flash Thompson in the Spider-Man trilogy. During an interview with Comicbook.com, Manganiello said he would love to be a part of Avengers: Secret Wars. The Kill Room actor mentioned-

“Would I love to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? I mean, sure. Of course it’d be fun in the right project. I heard Sam Raimi’s doing Secret Wars, is that right? I don’t know, man. I don’t much about [Agent Venom], I’d imagine that’d be over at Sony. It would be very funny to come back that way.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a standalone project on Deathstroke was rejected in 2018 due to the executive alterations at Warner Bros. Joe Manganiello said-

“When the dust settled, it was not seen as a priority to make a 40 million movie about a villain origin story in which you show the backstory,”

Marvel Studios’ upcoming project Avengers: Kang Dynasty has been halted after Jonathan Majors’ controversy came to light. As of now no update has been provided by the Marvel Studios on the development of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Sam Raimi’s Avengers: Secret Wars is slated to hit the theaters on May 7, 2027.
