As DC lies in the hands of James Gunn and Peter Safran, the duo is looking forward to revamping the superhero franchise. Recently, James Wan spoke about the sequel of Aquaman and even pointed out the reasons that make it stand out in the crowd of superheroes.

Director James Wan On Aquaman 2

Actor Ezra Miller’s The Flash came crashing down at the box office. The Andy Musichetti movie was a commercial and critical disaster. With the upcoming Jason Momoa and Amber Heard’s Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, director James Wan has geared up for the promotion of the movie months before its release. During an interview with the media outlet ComicBook, the director spoke about the massive changes that are taking place in the multi-million dollar franchise and even pointed out that Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom is on the next level in comparison to the previous DCEU movie. James Wan mentioned-

“You know, people love Jason Momoa; people love him playing this role; and people love the action visuals of this space and this world. And that’s what we’re doing: we’re taking it to the next level and we are still expanding. This is the next level and I’m very excited to finally put out there to show them what we’ve been working on all these years.”

As DCEU is going through changes that have resulted in the addition and subtraction of new and old faces respectively. During an interview with the reputed media house The Hollywood Reporter, the Aquaman director revealed that the changes in the superhero franchise do not have any direct or indirect impact on the upcoming sequel of Jason Momoa’s movie. He said-

“I’ve had to make adjustments all along the way. The DCU has been through lots of different versions, and one of the things that was challenging about this film was keeping track of what’s going on. Fortunately, the Aquaman universe is pretty far removed from the rest of the world. We’re going to many different underwater kingdoms that are not necessarily related to what’s happening with the other movies and characters, so we’re standalone in that respect. So I can just tell my story on its own without being affected too much, but at the same time, I have to be mindful of what’s been happening.”

The speculation around Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom is very much justified. With DCU in the hands of James Gunn and Peter Safran and Ezra Miller’s box-office flop, not much can be predicted about the upcoming sequel of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.

Jason Momoa Breaks His Silence On The Wrong Treatment By Warner Bros

Jason Momoa’s Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom was shrouded by controversies since their inception. The association of Amber Heard with the project resulted in bad press as Johnny Depp’s fans even wanted her to be removed from the project and the rumors related to the careless behavior of the production house towards the sequel gave enough fuel to the tabloid world.

Fast X actor Jason Momoa broke his silence on the behavior of Warner Bros towards his upcoming sequel. He had penned down a 50-page story treatment that focussed on the environmental issue of climate change, but that was not even taken into consideration by the production house.

According to Men’s Health, the actor’s frustration was not only related to the sequel of Aquaman but the way he was treated by the billion-dollar production house. Jason Momoa mentioned-

“It’s not that I don’t care about Aquaman; it’s a wonderful character. Aquaman is probably the hardest character in comic-book history. He’s made fun of and ridiculed, but I tried to give it heart and soul, and I’m proud of it in certain ways. Do I feel pressure for [the sequel] to do well? No. All I can do is give it my all. But it’s in a lot of other people’s hands.”

Jason Momoa is one of those actors in Hollywood, who are very dedicated to their projects. He was not only into acting, instead, he also provided his input with respect to the upcoming sequel of Aquaman. The actor is also an active advocate for Marine Protected Areas and has never shied away from doing his bit for better tomorrow.
