Ezra Miller’s The Flash is all set to hit the theatres on June 16, 2023. According to the latest buzz at the tinsel town, the DC movie features an unexpected Superman cameo.
And to our surprise, it isn’t our favorite Henry Cavill doing the Superman cameo in The Flash. According to Andy Muschietti, the director of The Flash, one of the A-listers from Hollywood who had donned the superhero suit almost three decades ago is the face of the cameo. Recently, during a shocking interview with Esquire Middle East, Andy Muschietti revealed that Nicolas Cage would be doing the Superman cameo in The Flash. He recalled working with the Ghost Rider actor and said-
“It was absolutely wonderful and Although the role was a cameo, he dove into it. A dream come true not only for a Superman mega fan like Cage working with the legendary star was also a huge milestone for the filmmaker who said, “I dreamt all my life to work with him. I hope I can work with him again soon.”
This news has left DC fans confused as to why would the It director come up with such a big spoiler, just a few weeks before the theatrical release of The Flash. For actor Nicolas Cage, it would be a lifetime role as he would be reportedly seen along with Michael Keaton, who would be reprising his role as Batman. Henry Cavill’s fans are disappointed as the Superhero cameo would not be played by the British actor.
The Hypocrisy Of Henry Cavill’s The Witcher‘s Showrunner
The Witcher is synonymous with Henry Cavill. For die-hard The Witcher fans, it is next to impossible to imagine some other actor as the protagonist. When he was replaced by Liam Hemsworth in the Netflix drama series, fans mourned and even took to social media to express their dissatisfaction over the replacement news.
In The Witcher Season 3, Henry Cavill would be seen in the title role for the last time. During an interview with the Total Film the showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich made a statement about the controversial exit of the Man Of Steel actor, the upcoming narrative and what is the upcoming season’s plot is all about. He stated-
“The core of The Witcher is all about family. And this is the point at which our family finally gets a chance to be together for the first time and actually start imagining a future together. And so I was really excited to finally deliver that promise to the audience… to get to that place where there could be some happiness. But it’s The Witcher… so of course that doesn’t last!”
While talking about Liam Hemsworth’s addition to the Netflix series, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said-
“We’re all excited about Liam coming in. He’s got enormous shoes to fill, but also has a lot of energy and a lot of excitement for it. It’s obviously a brand-new chapter for us. And there are a lot of feelings involved. But at the end of the day, we love what we’re doing. So we’re gonna keep going.”
The reality of Henry Cavill’s last association with The Witcher hits hard as he would no longer be the face of the Netflix series that was taken to great heights and popularity by his great acting prowess and charismatic personality.
The Witcher Season 3 would be aired on Netflix on June 29, 2023.
