Ryan Reynolds has a hang of sports investments after his successful gambit with the Wrexham deal. In recent events, the multi-talented Hollywood actor has now set foot into the world of F1 racing. As per Renault Group’s latest updates, Renault Group and Alpine welcome Otro Capital and their partner, RedBird Capital Partners, along with Maximum Effort Investments (collectively known as the “Investor Group”) to Alpine Racing Ltd, the entity in charge of Formula 1 activities based in Enstone (UK).

Ryan Reynolds To Make Another Major Sports Investment In Alpine F1 Team

Ryan Reynolds is hell-bent on expanding his investments and business ventures into the sports realm. According to Renault Group’s announcement on Monday, Renault Group and Alpine welcomed Otro Capital, RedBird Capital Partners, and Maximum Effort Investments to Alpine Racing Ltd, with a 24% equity stake.

Ryan Reynolds is joined by co-investors, actor Michael B. Jordan and Wrexham AFC Co-Chairman Rob McElhenney. The Investor Group is investing €200 million, representing a 24% equity stake, to support Alpine’s growth strategy and sporting ambitions in Formula 1. The transaction values Alpine Racing Ltd around $900 million following this investment.

According to Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group,

“Formula 1 and Alpine are strategic assets for Renault Group. Over the past two years, we have re-ignited Alpine, capitalizing on its iconic A110 sports coupé, boosting it by entering Formula 1, where it aims to become a championship contender. This partnership will accelerate Alpine F1 development by diversifying revenue drivers and increasing brand value.”

Meanwhile, James Toney, Co-Founder of Maximum Effort Investments said,

Details About Ryan Reynolds’s Acquisition of Wrexham FC

Actor Ryan Reynolds surprised his fans and wife after his unexpected million-dollar investment in acquiring Wrexham AFC, the third oldest professional soccer team in the world. The Hollywood stars bought the club in a surprise $2.5 million takeover in February 2021.

Reynolds, best known for his roles as Deadpool, The Green Lantern, and Detective Pikachu, and McElhenney, the creator of the popular sitcom, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, saw a brilliant investment opportunity while the club was going through a struggling phase.

As per reports, a total of 1,223 Wrexham Supporters Trust members (95%) voted in favor of the proposed takeover, which could see Reynolds and McElhenney immediately invest $2.5 million. When Wrexham AFC won promotion back to the English Football League after a 15-year absence, leaving club owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds overcome with emotion, it was evident that the newbie investors had made the right bet.
