David Beckham‘s 2004 rumored affair after marrying Victoria Beckham in 1999 has been eloquently acknowledged by the couple recently. The Manchester United legend has been a subject of public speculation for a long and after all the hardships that acquired the couple’s married life, they decided to open up about the truth behind Beckham’s supposed affair.

Rumors surrounding David Beckham’s affair were fueled by his move from Manchester United to Real Madrid when the public started speculating the iconic player was cheating on his wife with someone else. In a new four-part Netflix documentary, titled Beckham, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham have squarely confronted the rumors and even stated:

“There was some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with. It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

It was claimed that David Beckham was romantically involved with someone who previously worked under the star. The couple revealed that the intense scrutiny from the public regarding the rumors brought a tough time not only in their marriage but for their family as well.

The former Spice Girl and fashion designer revealed that the delay in moving to Madrid was due to their search for the best school for their oldest daughter. But Beckham’s alleged affair rumors brought loneliness and detachment between the couple stating that it felt like two different individuals rather than a connubial bliss. However, despite the unwanted and intense public scrutiny, the couple reasserted their commitments and emphasized that their private life deserves to remain private.

In Netflix’s four-part documentary, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham opened up about some of their life’s infamous moments, out of which was the incident regarding the 1998 soccer match between England and Argentina. The former player was just a 23-year-old soccer player at that time and after watching his match the public blessed Beckham with intense negative backlash. The Spice World actress revealed:

“I mean, the absolute hate, the public bullying, to another level. He was depressed, absolutely clinically depressed. I still want to kill these people.”

David Beckham then suffered from clinical depression after all the hate and public bullying and added:

“What I went through was so extreme. The whole country hated me. Hated me. It changed my life. I felt very vulnerable and alone. Wherever I went I got abused every single day.”

The legendary former player revealed that dealing with daily abuse and receiving hate from the entire country was extremely difficult for him. David Beckham was booed in stadiums across the country and spat at in the street.

However, after all the tumultuous period, hate, and bullying that Beckham received, it was Victoria Beckham who stood by the former player and still flaunts their incredible bond.
