Longtime Hocus Pocus Fans Will Immediately Recognize Doug Jones:
Long-time Hocus Pocus fans will know Doug Jones as the sequel’s fourth returning star. Jones portrayed zombie Billy Butcherson, who rose from the dead and turned against the Sanderson Sisters in the 1993 picture. Outside of the three witches, Jones is the only other original Hocus Pocus performer confirmed to return at this time. Tony Hale’s presence in Hocus Pocus 2 has already sparked speculation, since his visage was seen on set signs and posters before he was formally acknowledged. Sam Richardson, who recently appeared in guest appearances in the final two episodes of Ted Lasso Season 2, was announced as part of the cast last week. Speaking of Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham has been a household name in the last two years owing to her part as Rebecca in the award-winning series, and she recently received her own Emmy trophy.
Vanessa Shaw, Who Played Allison Hasn’t Heard Much About The Sequel Just Yet:
Vanessa Shaw, who portrayed Allison in the original film in 1993, hasn’t heard anything about the sequel yet. Shaw, on the other hand, revealed in a recent interview with ComicBook.com that she’s interested in seeing what Hocus Pocus 2 has in store for her, even if she’s not in it. “I’d want to learn more about it.” Nothing has come to my attention. So it might be that it’s still in pre-production, or it could be something completely different than the original. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard anything. “I’m sorry,” Shaw apologized. “That movie really blew my mind as a young child growing up on Disney movies to be able to produce that movie.” It was a fantastic second picture to make. It literally made me adore filmmaking since I hadn’t done something that huge up until that point. Ladybugs was already a big deal for me, but three months on the set working on this film really changed my life. So, to be able to have everyone adore it yet again… So I’m hoping the sequel is just as good.” The sequel to Hocus Pocus will be available on Disney+ next year.
