Fiona was the beautiful princess who was locked away in a tower, waiting for her true love to rescue her. Shrek ends up being the one to save her, and their story becomes a tale of true love and acceptance. It’s all very sweet and fairy tale-like until one theory about the princess changes everything.

Princess Fiona Was a Cannibal

The dark theory about Princess Fiona might change how everyone sees her forever. It’s pretty disturbing and might make the fans question everything they thought they knew about their beloved character. There is this wild theory going around that she might have been a cannibal during her time in the tower.

Some viewers have been looking at some clues in the movie and coming up with some pretty dark ideas online. Fiona was stuck in that tower for years, and no one really saw how she got food or survived all that time. That’s where this theory comes in. Some fans think that Fiona might have been eating the knights who came to rescue her.

First off, Shrek and Donkey saw a number of skeletons when they got to the castle. Some of them were incomplete like they had been eaten. And there’s this weird scene with a large human-sized metal pot and a cookbook called “Knightly Treats.” That was pretty suspicious too, as the dragon didn’t prefer cooked meat. So, it might have been used for Fiona.

There was a drawing of a human body with the cuts described as a butcher would describe the parts of a cow. As the dragon was eating a raw person as a whole, those descriptions of meat cutting were probably for Fiona as someone might be serving her her rescuers’ meat.

It might be the dragon who killed all the knights that came to rescue her, and since Fiona turned into an ogre every night, she would have consumed the meat in order to survive in her desperate times.

Eddie Murphy, who also gave the voice of everyone’s favorite talking Donkey, has spilled some beans about upcoming Shrek projects. He revealed that work on Shrek 5 has already begun.

The last Shrek movie was Shrek Forever After, which was released in 2010. After more than a decade, fans will be getting another Shrek movie. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Murphy said they started recording about six months ago.

We started doing Shrek six months ago. So Shrek is coming back. So we’re doing another Shrek and we’re doing a Donkey movie. There’s a Donkey, we have a Donkey movie.

Murphy seemed pretty excited about the Donkey movie especially, saying it would feature Donkey, his dragon wife, and their half-dragon, half-donkey kids.

When Etalk asked about reprising his role as Donkey, Murphy was all in. He said he’d do it “in two seconds” because he loves the character so much. He even joked that Donkey was funnier than Puss in Boots.

Murphy also said that DreamWorks is planning to work on the Donkey movie right after they finish Shrek 5, which will probably come out in 2025 (according to Collider).

These new projects come at a good time, considering the recent success of other animated films like Kung Fu Panda 4 and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and it seems like fans are ready for more from the world of Shrek.

Shrek and Shrek 2 are streaming on Hulu and Peacock.

All Shrek movies are available to buy or rent on Prime Video and Apple TV.
