Back in October, a video was posted by Katie Sigmond of herself golfing. It was supposed to be regular content for her TikTok fans and viewers. And with around 7 million followers on the app, her videos get millions of likes every time. However, this particular video was not received well by the viewers. In the video, Sigmond is visibly hitting her gold ball straight into the Grand Canyon National Park.
The park is a protected area and therefore such disturbances are not welcomed and may even lead to 6 months of jail time. Soon after the Park’s social media account reposted the video criticizing her careless attitude. They wrote, “Do we really need to say, ‘don’t hit golf balls into the Grand Canyon?'”
And after that, a person also uploaded a video where the TikTok golfer is visible hitting the balls into the park’s premises. Following that Sigmond was identified by authorities for a penalty with the help of the public. The Grand Canyon Law Enforcement located and contacted the golfer. She was charged with a ‘Class B misdemeanor’ which includes tossing things into the national park. And at first, Sigmond was ordered to be present at the U.S. district court. However, she resolved that by paying a fine of 250 dollars to the Central Violations Bureau. Currently, she has a clean record as she cleared all her legal charges.
