Dominique Thorne To Debut As Ironheart In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?
Dominique Thorne is soon going to play Riri Williams, AKA Ironheart, in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Before appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a solo series on Disney+, Ironheart will appear as Riri Williams, a teen genius, in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
It has been exclusively confirmed by Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, that Thorne will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut with the Black Panther sequel that is going to get its release next summer. After Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, she’ll head towards her own Disney+ series.
This is what Kevin Feige said:
“We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first. She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series.”
Riri Williams was created by Eve Ewing, Brian Michael Bendis, Kevin Libranda, and Mike Deodato that debuted in the Invincible Iron Man series (2016). She was perhaps a genius in her own world that led her to create an Ironman-styled suit, which is made out of some essential spare parts. Soon, the AI system of deceased Tony Stark is going to join her to mentor the young genius and hero.
Ironheart was rumored to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time now. The theories and gossips increased especially after the end of Tony Stark’s Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame. But the rumor that a TV version of the superhero will appear on Disney+ emerged last year. Keeping the hype in a loop, Disney’s Investor Day also confirmed it in December last year. The makers finalized Dominique Thorne without any audition, which shows how much Marvel wanted to get this young actor on board.
It was also rumored that Riri Williams, AKA Ironheart, might appear in Armor Wars. That is why the makers confirmed the casting so far ahead of the shows’ beginning. Now, it also looks like Dominique Thorne would appear in Black Panther 2. With that said, as per a report, Black Panther will also include scenes shot at MIT, where the young genius, Riri Williams attends school.
Along with the exclusive debut of Ironheart, Black Panther 2 will also feature Atlantis and Namor. While Tenoch Huerta is reported to play the King of Atlantis, some rumors claimed that Namora has also been cast. At last, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has also included a mystery role of Michaela Coel from I May Destroy You.
With that said, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to get its theatrical release on July 8, 2022. However, Ironheart is yet to get a release date.
