In the Captain America: Brave New World trailer, shown at this year’s Comic-Con, we got a glimpse of his Red Hulk transformation. On stage, he showcased some classic ‘Hulk’ anger. Fans were excited to hear Ford talk about becoming the green-skinned behemoth, but his response was classic Harrison Ford—still the same!

Harrison Ford’s History of Blunt Honesty

When The Hollywood Reporter (posted on their Instagram) asked Harrison Ford about his process for bringing the Red Hulk to life, he just said, “Don’t get me started.” This short answer was full of his famous dry humor.

He never likes to talk about Star Wars and Marvel is no different. The Chicago native is known for being unenthusiastic about his famous roles. Playing Han Solo (though iconic) often overshadows his other work and Ford has openly said he’s tired of being known for just one character.

“I don’t care who shot first,” the 82-year-old famously quipped in a Collider interview, referring to the infamous Han Solo-Greedo shootout. His nonchalant attitude, while humorous, shows his frustration at being typecast. Yet, despite his public grumbling, he has come back to the Star Wars universe several times.

Ford’s relationship with Star Wars is complicated. However, his returns in The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker show he values the franchise. That could be the same reason why he also didn’t want to talk about his famous Marvel role.

As Red Hulk, Harrison Ford gets to try something new. This role, with its huge strength and anger, is very different from the charming characters he usually plays. The Indiana Jones actor said on the Comic-Con red carpet (via ABC):

This is a character that carries a strong emotional story that’s very much a key to the development of the overall plot and I was very delighted to have the chance to play this character.

Even though Ford’s classic dry humor is there, you can also hear excitement in his voice. This new role might let him show off his acting skills in ways we haven’t seen before. Moreover, Harrison Ford is always worth watching.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to release on 14 February, 2025.
