Canadian rapper Drake has gained worldwide recognition and earned millions as a rapper. The Grammy-winning rapper, however, is also known for his infamous Drake Curse. The curse suggests that any sports star or a team that gets associated with him in any way ends up suffering a loss.

Something similar was assumed for the UFC player Israel Adesanya when he placed a bet in favor of Adesanya. And the “curse” is finally broken as Israel Adesanya knocked out Alex Pereira at UFC 287, leading the rapper to win $2.7 million.

Drake Wins $2.7 Million at UFC 287 With Israel Adesanya’s Win

Despite his past experience at UFC, Drake once again staked $400,000 on Israel Adesanya to knock out his opponent, Alex Pereira. Along with a $400,00p bet, the Canadian rapper made an additional bet of $200,000 on the co-main event. And the risk seemed worthy enough as the God’s Plan hitmaker has now won a whopping $2.7 million with his bets.

Adesanya knocked out Pereira in the second round and became a two-time UFC middleweight champion. The rapper won over $800,000 for the win prediction and over $1.8 million for the winning method prediction, resulting in a total of $2.725 million. However, he lost his other bet on Jorge Masvidal, who lost his match against Gilbert Burns.

Israel Adesanya’s Thoughts on the Drake Curse

While people believe that Drake Curse has allegedly caused many sports stars to fail, Israel Adesanya has turned out to be the exception among them. And this is not the first time he has overcome the infamous curse. The 33-year-old MMA fighter earlier defeated Jaree Cannoniee at UFC 276. Drake revealed that he had bet on Adesanya.

When he was asked about the same during a press conference at UFC 276, Adesanya shared his thoughts on the infamous curse associated with the Grammy-winning rapper. “What fuc*ing curse…anyone who is so stupid. I don’t post sh*t but like, was it the Vettori fight?” he said. The 36-year-old musician won $1 million in a bet he placed on Israel Adesanya.

He also shared that he had been talking to the One Dance rapper during the fight week and was still in contact with him via DMs. Adesanya further added that he broke all the curses, including the short curse, EA cover curse, and embedded haircut curse.
