Drew Barrymore Feels Honored To Have Shared the Screen With Two and a Half Men Star Melanie Lynskey in $98M Cinderella Movie
Drew Barrymore came back as Cinderella after 25 years! Well, sort of, Ever After: A Cinderella Story celebrated its silver jubilee at The Drew Barrymore Show, and fans cannot get over the wholesome moment. The three on-screen step sisters getting together resulted in a splendid episode. The on-screen sisters including the Two and a Half Men actor Melanie Lynskey reminisced about the old days while traveling back in time to share all the tidbits behind the scenes with the viewers.
Many members of the cast also guest-starred in the show on the video call. All in all the cast of Ever After the movie had a gala time and so did the audience.
The three sisters reunite
Besides being an outstanding host, Drew Barrymore is also a terrific actor. She has been in the business for almost her whole life. In 1998, the actress played a Cinderella-based character named Danielle de Barbarac, along with Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds, who portrayed the role of the stepsisters. All the actresses appeared in their renaissance costumes. Barrymore sported a pair of wings just like in the movie and looked phenomenal. It was a beautiful and wholesome sight to witness.
The Cinderella actress expressed her joy by stating,
“It’s not even a show. We’re just here in a time machine and we’re back 25 years ago because it’s the 25th anniversary of ‘Ever After’,”
She then further added,
“I literally can’t even believe it. I get to be here with my sisters, my step sisters.”
The Andy Tennant-directed film hilariously spun the story of Cinderella, the one we know and love on its head. As Cinderella wasn’t the one in distress anymore, prince charming was. Therefore, Cinderella was the one to rescue him. This unique take made it a huge success at the box office. It was priceless to see all the cast under the same roof after so many years.
Behind the scenes of Ever After: A Cinderella Story
The cast reunited almost after 25 years, and thus the talks of all the fun they had were bound to happen. The prince, Dougray Scott, also shared his story of how he landed the role,
“My agent sort of managed to get me in the room again. I begged. I begged them I said, ‘Give me another chance,’ and I think that’s how I got the part,”
The evil stepmother, Anjelica Huston also shared her experience in casting,
“I remember just going, ‘Screw it, I’m gonna find her phone number and I’m gonna call her.’ And I got her on the phone,”
To that Barrymore added,
“I said, ‘You know what, for your dad John Huston and my grandfather John Barrymore who you know partied here on Earth and are somewhere up in heaven keeping it going … Barrymore Huston, Huston Barrymore, we’ve got to do this.”
And thank goodness everything worked out in the end as according to Charlie’s Angels actor it was one of the most joyous experiences she had filming. The attire, the stories, and watching all the stars reunite really made for a precious moment on the show.
