Dune 2: Every New Character That Must Be Introduced In The New Movie
In the much-anticipated Dune sequel, lead role(s) is/are still not cast. Timothée Chalamet and Oscar Isaac are in talks to sign up as the lead character(s). It is planned that they will be portraying Paul Atreides and son of Duke Leto. When the Atreides are called to take stewardship over the giant sand planet Dune (Arrakis), several surprising revelations about their own ancestry make them directly confront a plot that could destroy both humanity and machine consciousness.
Dune is set in Arrakis. It is a desert world that is the only place in the universe where the spice melange is available, a highly valuable and potent drug fuel. Experts suggest that melange can even be used to make people live longer, while the spice opens up the mind in visions of future events. The production studio has brought Herbert’s book to life on the big screen through HBO Max and for the rest; there isn’t an official release date yet for Dune: Part 2.
With that being said, these are some of the characters that must be introduced in Dune 2 –
Alia Atreides
Alia Atreides is without a doubt one of the most complex, interesting, and difficult characters to cast in Dune 2 because she’s so present even though all she does is sleep. Still, we’re sure that Villeneuve and his team will come up with an ingenious solution to this conundrum. We do wonder how they’ll handle the rest of her story but it’s possible they could either take her story further or move on to another character entirely. Probably neither though since Childish Gambino is already taking care of pop culture references while Bradley Cooper handles Callum Lynch currently!
Feyd-Rauth
Feyd-Rauth is the nephew of Stellan Skarsgård’s Baron Vladimir and son of Abulurd Harkonnen. He was the heir to House Harkonnen before Ghanima Atreides. It was Sting in David Lynch who played him in 1984 Dune adaptation, but we think someone even closer to his character would be musician Harry Styles. Although his acting credits are slim, Styles’ character may bring some insights that could help him craft his character for a Dune remake that he might star in with Ridley Scott as director. If Styles hopes to make as big an impact on Hollywood as he did on music worldwide, co-starring alongside other high-profile actors like Zach McGowan and Josh Brolin more than makes up for no experience in film.
Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV
The Emperor sets in motion the conspiracy. It ends up destroying Paul’s family and leading Timothée Chalamet’s character down the path to being a messiah of sorts. Herbert is an atypical character among science fiction novels over time. This is because he chooses not to separate himself from Paul after marrying Irulan. The Emperor had always been known for engaging in “madness” or eccentricity to increase focus on characters he found unique. His Lordship also proves integral towards Dune 2‘s climax.
Princess Irulan
Princess Irulan is an important character in the famous novel. In it, Paul fights against Irulan’s father and ends up becoming the emperor of the known universe. Irulan also acts as a narrator recounting Paul Atreides’ life and becoming a historian of earth-shattering reign. It was Virginia Madsen who portrayed the Irulan in David Lynch’s Dune.
