The multitalented Hollywood personality spoke about his upcoming projects and what he learned while working with Christopher Nolan during the filming of Oppenheimer. The 37-year-old actor spoke about one of his esteemed projects with Dwayne Johnson The Smashing Machine, which is based on the life of the martial arts champion Mark Kerr.

The interview mentions how Dwayne Johnson and Benny Safdie’s entire project was saved by their co-star Emily Blunt.

The Fast and Furious star and Benny Safdie discussed the project in 2019, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie was put on hold. Both the actors moved ahead in different directions with respect to their priorities and the movie seemed to be dead. He said-

“Benny thought I ghosted him, and maybe I was just a fuckin’ a**hole,”

During a conversation with Emily Blunt, Dwayne Johnson spoke about the Mark Kerr project and even sent the documentary to watch and shared how desperately he wanted to play the protagonist. Emily Blunt encouraged the Moana star to reconnect with Benny Safdie after working with him in Oppenheimer. The project was back on track.

During an interview with the famous media platform The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, Dwayne Johnson spoke about his Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt. The wrestler-turned-actor has always admired The Devil Wears Prada star and revealed that he had wanted to work with her for a long time. He said- 

“I had always admired her as an actor, but also when I would watch her on talk shows, she had this personality that was effervescent, that was cool and very, very charming.”

“I had not even met her. And I wanted to let her know via this video just how important she was to this movie and how I only wanted her in this movie. And it was great. And I … I actually never heard again from Emily. Didn’t respond at all. Just ghosted me.”
