Ever since Elizabeth Olsen’s debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it has been a recurring debate if her character is a true villain or not. This dilemma among the fans arises mostly because Wanda constantly shows much of both, heroism and villainism. On one hand, the fans see her sacrifices in WandaVision, and on the other hand, they get to see her brutally slaughtering dozens of innocents in horrifying ways to satisfy her delusions in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

According to the theories developed by Marvel fans, Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, was going to be the next Thanos-level villain of the MCU, which was also depicted in the comics and even Marvel confirmed its intentions of doing the same.

However, it did not as per the plans, as the new Marvel lineup until 2026, the upcoming Avengers films, Secret Invasion and The Kang Dynasty pretty much crushed that dream and instead confirm Kang the Conqueror as the next big bad.
