Eminem Turned Down Gargantuan $7.3B Franchise That Was Also Eyeing Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale for a Lead Role
The name Eminem needs no introduction. The internationally renowned rapper has 15 Grammy’s to his name and is also considered to be the greatest rapper of all time. He is also known for his 2002 movie 8 Mile which had elements from his real life.
However, not a lot of people know that before 8 Mile he rejected an offer to feature in what went on to be one of the biggest franchise films.

Eminem was offered a role in the first Fast and Furious
As hard to believe as it may be, Eminem was actually offered a role in the first Fast and Furious movie. For those unaware, it is considered to be one of the most popular and successful franchises with 10 movies released to date, the franchise has earned over $7 billion.
Interestingly, Eminem was offered the role of Brian O’Connor, who was ultimately played by Paul Walker. It was the rapper’s schedule with 8 Mile which prevented him from doing the movie. Moreover, the rule was also offered to Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale before Paul Walker was given the role.

Apart from this, there have been a number of movies that the American rapper has rejected over the years like Training Day, Jumper, Mad Max: Fury Road, and more.
Eminem regretted not attending the 2003 Oscars
The Oscars are considered to be one of the most prestigious awards. Not many ever get the opportunity to attend the show or even be nominated. However, Eminem skipped the opportunity to attend the show despite being nominated for an award.
Back in 2003, Eminem was nominated for his song, Lose Yourself. The rapper failed to realize his chances of winning the award and did not know the importance of the award. Speaking about the same, he had this to say (via The Things):
“I just felt I had no chance of winning, because, you know, when I heard I was nominated, I thought that was for actors. I was not sure what exactly Grammy or Oscar meant, what certain awards meant, I was not sure what they meant, so even MTV awards, all that stuff, I just didn’t know what awards meant, and this particular award…I didn’t go to the show…I just felt like I didn’t have a snowball’s chance of winning.”

It is worth noting that the American rapper ended up winning the award and regretted missing out on what would’ve been a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
