Endgame Theory: Black Widow Is The Flashback Natasha Had While Falling On Vormir
An Endgame theory by a fan, who framed the idea that Black Widow is everything that flashed in front of Natasha while falling from the cliff on Vormir, makes sense.
One fan theory discovered that Black Widow is everything but Romanoff’s life flashing in front of her eyes while falling down from the cliff in Avengers: Endgame. Natasha Romanoff, AKA Black Widow, sacrificed her life to acquire the Soul Stone that was indeed an important part of the Infinity Saga. Marvel fans were intrigued to learn more about the character at the San Diego Comic-Con (2019) and to figure out whether or not the character will get its solo release in MCU Phase 4.
A Sneak Peek Into Black Widow
The events of Black Widow take place between Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War that echoes Romanoff’s past with the Red Room and Russia. The film introduced three new characters to the MCU as Russia’s agents in the US. Reunited after years, Romanoff and her family work together to destroy the Red Room and free other Widows. It was General Dreykov who was leading the Red Room, who Natasha and Clint Barton killed in Budapest, years ago. That’s what she thought.
Before the release of the film, fans spotted a scene where Natasha Romanoff was holding the Red Dust; a gas that could help to free the Widows from the Red Room. While fans thought it could be Pym Particles, a new Black Widow theory showed up in place. The theory suggested that Natasha Romanoff traveled time while falling from the cliff in Vormir to revisit some important and emotional moments of her life. This included her life between Infinity War and Civil War.
What Does The Theory Suggest?
Fans put the information and theory out of the fact that there was no hint given about the Red Dust in the film, thinking that Natasha Romanoff did a time travel to see her fake family for one last time. In her past life, Romanoff was supposed to find more Pym Particles to get back on Vormir and process the sacrifice to get the Soul Stone. Now since fans know that there was no Pym Particles, the theory of time traveling didn’t pan out. But this does not mean that Black Widow didn’t had a flashback of her life while falling down the cliff.
While the film negated Romanoff’s time travel, watching Black Widow with the fan theory in mind that it is everything that Black Widow is having in front of her eyes while falling down from Vormir brings a new angle to the film. For a heroic character who spent most of her life alone, Natasha Romanoff finally discovers multiple families for whom she ultimately sacrificed her life. It is not too difficult to imagine her remembering the reunion with her first family in Black Widow and acknowledging the fate of the universe.
