Euphoria Season 3 First Look Revealed: Cast Details, Release Date, Episode Count and More

Created by Sam Levinson, the teen-drama series Euphoria, based on the Israeli mini-series of the same name by Ron Lesham and Daphna Levin, is returning for its third season. The series stars Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Nika King, Hunter Schafer, and more. The series’ fan-favorite character, Angus Cloud, who played Fezco in the show, passed away in 2023.

The series received positive reviews from critics and the audience for its approach to mature subjects, actors’ performances, cinematography, and more. However, the series has also been criticised for the n**ity and s**ual content in an excessive amount considering the story is set in a high school setting. But Euphoria is HBO’s fourth most-watched series and now is returning for a third season.

Zendaya returns as Rue Bennett for Euphoria Season 3

One of the highly awaited teen-drama series, Euphoria, stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, and more. The long-awaited production for Sam Levinson’s Euphoria was on hold, but the studios have finally shared the first look of the upcoming season, mentioning (via THR),

Euphoria Season 3 is in production.

The look includes Zendaya as Rue Bennett looking over her shoulder in a dim-light setting, no other details were shared. The series’ delay was caused by many factors, including aligning schedules for the returning cast members, Levinson’s work on HBO’s ill-fated The Idol, and more.

Along with Zendaya, the core cast members, including Hunter Schafer, Sweeney, Elordi, Apatow, and Colman Domingo, are set to return for the third season. Storm Reid, who played Rue Bennett’s little sister, shared that she would not be returning to the series.

Actress Barbie Ferreira, who plays Kat on the show, also announced that she has finally bid her character a ‘teary goodbye.’ She shared on her social media that she hoped the fans would be able to see themselves in her character’s journey, and she hoped that she was able to bring joy to the ones watching.

HBO/MAX boss Casey Bloys shared in November 2024 to Variety,

I know the show gets a lot of attention now because, you know, it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that they are working on, but we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed. It’s eight episodes.

Fans are waiting to see how the makers will incorporate Angus Cloud’s character in the third season. The audience was left with his character in a precarious situation, but he was still alive even though shot in the stomach in the season two finale.

Zendaya revealed Euphoria Season 3 will feature a time jump

In speaking to EW’s The Awards podcast last year, the actress who is excited to return as Rue Bennett on season three of Euphoria revealed that the upcoming season is going to feature a time jump. She said,

It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with. And then she cheats on her boyfriend again.

Zendaya, who also serves as executive producer on the show, did not share many details, but noted that it’s going to be fascinating for the audience to watch. She said that it’s going to be interesting to see and understand the characters outside of the context of high school and how all the stuff that the audience saw when they were high school kids affects adulthood.

The young actress mentioned that the characters will move into a much bigger world, and it’s going to be interesting to see what’s going to happen. Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard on the show, shared about her character (via THR)

We did have a long time between seasons one and two, but especially now with the time jump, it’s a new process for me. I’m kind of just learning as I go and being open to whatever’s to come. But I’m also really looking forward to what’s going to happen in her life.

The cast members are very attached to their characters and have always expressed that they want to portray them in the most honest way possible. With them being excited for season three, it gives the audience a chance to be excited for it as well.

There has been no release date announced, but it’s speculated to release in early 2026.
