While we are geographically aware that Los Angeles isn’t a congested area like other similar big cities, it still somehow witnesses heavy traffic. The obsession with punctuality usually takes a toll in LA. Traveling from one place to another on time is a dream that rarely gets fulfilled. To our surprise even, Hollywood’s superstar Beyoncé got stuck in traffic, and guess what? She missed her Grammy Awards.

Pushing through traffic is a big deal in LA which requires patience and steady hands on the wheels. Queen Bey somehow had to face that boring LA traffic like a commoner, and that too on the night of her 2023 Grammy Awards.

Beyoncé misses her 2023 Grammy Awards due to heavy traffic

The 2023 Grammy Awards was an important one for Beyoncé for not only was she the night’s leading nominee but also set a new record with her Renaissance album. Queen Bey achieved enormous success with her brand new album getting the most ever wins as an artist. But unfortunately the Break My Soul singer missed her first win at the Grammys. The fun fact is, the LA traffic jam outside the arena took a toll on her. Due to the infamous LA traffic, the singer couldn’t celebrate her moment on time.

Early on, when the award ceremony started, it was announced that Queen Bey bagged her third win of the night for her R&B song, Cuff It. But since the singer wasn’t present, songwriter Terius Nash (The Dream) and musician Nile Rodgers were spotted rushing to the stage on her behalf and accepting the award. It feels unrealistic that even Queen Bey has to deal with the problematic Los Angeles traffic.

While accepting the award on behalf of Beyoncé, Nash briefly thanked the crowd. After he stepped down, Trevor Noah, the 2023 Grammy host, took over to inform the crowd about Beyoncé being stuck in traffic trying to make it to the ceremony. “So for real, Beyonce is on her way,” Noah explained. “The upside of hosting the Grammys in LA is that everyone can be here, the downside of hosting the Grammys in LA is the traffic.” Noah tried lightening the mood.

Celebrities in the crowd were dying to see Beyoncé in her all-time glamorous look, especially after she bagged a Grammy.

Beyoncé was presented her Grammy Awards after she arrived late

Beyoncé was half an hour late to the show but come on it’s not always because of failing to get ready on time, at times even traffic can mess things up. The infamous traffic of LA outside the arena, probably made the singer panic in her car, for being late to the ceremony. People were waiting for her in the award show dying to have a look at her. Prior to Trevor Noah announcing about Beyoncé being late, Lizzo was spotted trying to have a glimpse of Queen Bey when she was nominated as well as called on stage.

While informing people about Beyoncé being late to the show, Noah spotted Jay-Z and therefore thought the singer might have arrived as well. He, therefore, mentioned Beyoncé being seated in the corner with Jay-Z to which Lizzo screamed “where?” as she turned her head to look for Beyoncé. Jay-Z was simply spotted in the crowd sitting alone while Beyoncé was stuck in traffic. However, she pushed through the traffic and made it to the ceremony just half an hour late.

Beyoncé joined her partner Jay-Z in the crowd and shortly after that, she was presented with her award at her table. Queen Bey was nominated for nine awards in total, prior to the main show. The infamous rapper, Jay-Z was also nominated for songwriting alongside his wife.
