Ezra Miller S*xual Assault Allegations: What Did The Flash Star Do to Get Arrested?
Ezra Miller, best known for his roles as the Flash in DC’s Justice League and Credence in the Fantastic Beasts films, has been involved in a number of scandals over the last couple of years. However, the actor has most recently been charged with assaulting and grooming a youngster. Since a video supposedly showing Miller strangling a woman went viral in April 2020, Miller has been charged with violent crimes.
What Are The Allegations Against Ezra Miller?
Since a video purporting to show Ezra Miller strangling a woman went viral in April 2020, Miller has been the subject of violent crime accusations. Although the police were not called, TMZ reported that Miller was asked to leave the establishment after the altercation, which happened in an Icelandic bar. The woman spoke with Variety in an interview that was published on June 30.
“I think it’s just fun and games — but then it wasn’t,” she recalled of the incident, which she says started after she asked the actor how they’d gotten the wounds on their feet. Miller said the marks came from a fight, and that led to the pair joking — or so the woman thought — about who could take the other if they brawled. The woman still thought Miller was joking when they approached her outside the bar. “All of a sudden, [they’re] on top of me, choking me, still screaming in my face if I want to fight.”
Miller allegedly aggressively and physically abused a woman they were meeting in Berlin, Germany, in February 2022. The actor was the subject of an investigation for trespassing when the woman later filed a criminal complaint against him.
At a karaoke bar in Hawaii in March 2022, Miller was detained for disorderly behavior and harassment after allegedly yelling obscenities, stealing a woman’s microphone, and lunging at another customer. According to authorities, the incident was the first of several alleged “tirades” on the island, including one in which a chair was thrown at a woman less than a month after the bar incident. For assault in the second degree, the actor was detained.
According to Rolling Stone, Miller was “hosting” a 25-year-old mother and her three kids at their Vermont home in June 2022. As per two unnamed sources familiar with the issue and the father of the three children, the actor’s home was filled with drugs and guns, and they were worried for their safety. Additionally, Rolling Stone reported that some of the farm’s acreage was being used to cultivate marijuana illegally.
Miller was detained and accused of felony burglary in Vermont in August 2022 after allegedly breaking into a home and stealing several bottles of booze. Miller entered a guilty plea to trespassing as part of a compromise that changed their potential 25-year sentence to one year of probation and a fine.
What Warner Bros. And DC Said On These Controversies?
Production designer Paul Austerberry stated that he is not “too concerned” about Miller’s legal issues and allegations of abuse having any kind of an impact on The Flash. The Academy Award winner thought that because Miller did such a superb job portraying the title character, audiences would easily forget all the turmoil they had previously stirred up. The Canadian production designer told CBC, “People will forget that.”
Miller starred in a number of popular movies before their legal troubles, including We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and the Fantastic Beasts movies. Miller debuted in the DC film universe in 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice as The Flash, and he will play the major role in the upcoming movie The Flash, which will be released on June 16, 2023.
Following the start of their legal issues in Hawaii a few months later, executives from Warner Bros. and DC attended an urgent meeting on March 30, 2022, and according to Rolling Stone, the decision was made to halt all further Miller-related initiatives. Miller met with the directors of Warner Bros to express regret for drawing criticism to the movie and the studio.
After learning that the company was examining all possibilities, including delaying the premiere of the movie, Miller reportedly pledged to get help. Miller is “completely committed to their recovery,” according to DC Studios co-chairperson Peter Safran, and discussions concerning Miller’s future with the series will take place when they are ready.
