The video games-based series got its approval for a new season right after the release of the first season. After confirming the release of season two, Craig, the man behind the production of the TV series brought a storm on Twitter confirming that the second season will be released in two different parts.
The Last of Us Season 2 will meet fan’s expectations with an intriguing deep plot
It’s not been too long since the first season of HBO’s Emmy Awards nominated series made its way to the screen. Soon after the release of the first season, the series received massive support from the fans which inspired Craig Mazin, Neil Druckmann, and his production team to move forward with a new season.
Recently, the makers of the TV series including Craig confirmed their plans to release the next season in two parts.
Soon, the decision to release the series in two parts got announced to the public and many fans of the series reacted by showing their concerns. However, Craig addressed the fans’ concern by giving reasons behind such a decision.
The Creator of Mythic Quest told to media that the second season will be having an extended storyline, so to make it engaging, it’s better to divide the new season in two.

Also, the famous writer stated that they are looking to make the storyline for the second season even more interesting rather than just replicating the game. The new season has a good potential to deeply explore a different set of characters and stories.
Talking about characters, as of now, the show features some stunning cast members including Pedro Pascal who portraying for the role for the lead role as Joel. He is supported by Bella Ramsey who is portraying the role as Ellie in the series.
Craig Mazin says the Hollywood strike won’t be affecting the production of Season 2
Besides revealing the plans for dividing the new season, the creator of Chernobyl assured his fans that the ongoing industry-wide Hollywood strike won’t be affecting the production plans for the second season.
“We know what the whole season is, and I was actually able to get a write and submit the first episode right before the deadline hit. So now I’m just walking around, kind of brain-writing, I guess, which I don’t think is scabbing. I take walks and I think through the scenes because when the bell rings and this is over because the companies have finally come to their senses, I’m going to have to basically shoot myself out of a cannon because we really want to try and get this show on the air when it’s supposed to be on the air.”
The 52-year-old creator also shared that as he already has the new season written, he expects the new season to make its way to release within the confirmed deadline. And in fact, he has already submitted his draft for the first episode way before the deadline hit.

Expanding the Storyline Possibilities with Season 2
Possibly, the first season will be given its focus on the events based on Ellie and Joel’s departure from Seattle. However, the second part of the series will be giving it’s focussing more on their journey after leaving Seattle.
It looks more like Craig and his team have been giving more importance to putting extra effort to let the viewers explore the storyline for the series in depth.
This also leaves possibilities for the series to make a good storyline expansion post the second season where it will be continuing to delve deeper into the story, giving the fans a different experience compared to what they got in the first season.
