CW’s Supergirl is set to bring Lex Luthor in its next season, and fans seem to already know who is going to play the part. It’s Michael Rosenbaum.

It was announced earlier today that Lex Luthor will be a part of the show, although no casting has been announced yet. The character will debut in Supergirl after the Elseworlds crossover.

Rosenbaum has reprised the iconic role on the hit CW show Smallville from 2001 to 2008, and then later returned to the finale in 2011. He delivered a beloved rendition of the character, who goes against the comics to befriend Clark Kent in Smallville. The friendship between the two went on for some time until eventually, they become enemies.

The character of Luthor has been played many times onscreen. Reprised by Gene Hackman in the Christopher Reeves films and then played by John Shea in ABC’s Clark & Lois’ TV series. Jesse Eisenberg played it in the recent DCEU films.
