The actor was married to Garner, and they were a happy couple back in 2005, but his bitter separation from her in 2018 left the actress’s fans in shock who allegedly blamed J.Lo for their split.
In a tell-all interview, Ben Affleck was down to disclose it all. He told Howard Stern that if he was still married to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner he would still be drinking alcohol. The actor said,
“I’d probably still be drinking. It’s part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped. I was like I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do? What I did was drink a bottle of Scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”
Ben Affleck continued,
“The truth was, we took our time, we made the decision … We grew apart. We had a marriage that didn’t work, this happens with somebody that I love and respect but to whom I shouldn’t be married any longer. Ultimately, we tried. We tried because we had kids. Both of us felt like we don’t want this to be the model that our kids see of marriage.”
Affleck’s remarks didn’t sit well with Garners fans, who trashed the actor for being cruel in the media. Many fans suggested he should leave Jennifer Lopez and reunite with Jennifer Garner.

This comes off as him blaming his alcoholism on his then wife and children. He needs to take ownership for his addiction and not try to make excuses. He wasn’t the only one suffering, he put Jennifer and the kids through shit because of HIS choices.
