Amber Heard has become a target of criticism ever since the defamation trial involving Johnny Depp took place a few months ago. Following the constant disparagement by the media, Amber Heard has decided to move to a small Spanish town.

Amber Heard has Moved to a New Town to Escape the Media
Following the defamation trial with former husband Johnny Depp, the Aquaman star is being constantly bullied and disparaged by the media. Recently, some cameras have captured Amber Heard residing in a small town called Costitx in the Islands of Mallorca in Spain. She has taken refuge in her new home. And according to a neighbor of the Aquaman actor,
“She’s very normal on the street and doesn’t hide at any time.”
And another neighbor has shared,
“She walks with her daughter and goes to the park,” and “She leads a very normal village life as if she were a native.”
It is reported that Heard has taken up a new name, an alias to live anonymously. She is currently living with her daughter Oonagh Paige and her partner Bianca Butti.
What was the Defamation trial about?
The High-profiled court trial took place after Johnny Depp sued Heard for libel over a December 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post. The post by Heard described herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse”.
Although Depp’s name has not been mentioned anywhere in The Washington Post article, his former lawyers alleged that
“He was defamed by the article”. In response, Heard filed counterclaims. It alleged that the lawyers had defamed her by publicly claiming her “abuse allegations” to be fake.
According to Depp’s spokesperson, the verdict that the trial came to stands and they are confident with their case. The spokesperson shared,
“The jury listened to the extensive evidence presented during the six-week trial and came to a clear and unanimous verdict that the defendant herself defamed Mr. Depp in multiple instances”
During the 6-week trial, a large part of the testimony was focused on Heard’s claim. She stated that she had been physically and sexually abused by Depp several times. The Pirates of the Caribbean star responded to the claims saying he never hurt Heard. He also added that it was the other way round, that is Heard was the one who abused him.
The court decided the verdict and ordered Amber Heard to pay Depp $10m in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages. Additionally, the jury has also awarded Heard $2M for her counterclaims.
