Courteney Cox started working as a professional actress in 1984 but did not break through in Hollywood until ten years later when she was asked to audition for the role of Rachel Green in the NBC sitcom Friends. The role eventually went to Jennifer Aniston and Cox was cast as Monica Geller as she was found better suited for that role.

Over the years, Courteney Cox had a couple of high-profile relationships. The first of these was with Superman star Michael Keaton. They dated for five years before deciding to go their separate ways. They have moved on in their lives now but at one point, the Cougar Town actress had admitted that she loved the actor even after their separation.

Courteney Cox’s Unwavering Love For Michael Keaton

In 1989, Courteney Cox met Michael Keaton through their mutual friend after she told them that she was a fan of the actor after she saw him in the drama Clean and Sober. They had their first date night at Cox’s home and it was successful, to say the least.

Despite their 13-year age gap, the two enjoyed each other’s company and had a lot in common. Their relationship had made them one of those couples in Hollywood who set examples for others. In an interview with People in late 1995, Cox said: “It’s the most important relationship I’ve ever had, and I think he’s the most wonderful person I’ve ever met. We still love each other.”  She moved on later with her Scream co-star David Arquette, to whom she was married from 1999 to 2010. She shares her daughter Coco Arquette.

Courteney Cox’s relationship with Michael Keaton falls under the former category even though they were a very private couple because most of the activities that they liked to get involved in were available in their neighborhood.

The actress once revealed to People that she clicked with Keaton on their first date. She said:

“We talked for five hours. We talked about our dream homes — the great ones we’d seen and the kind we’d like to build ourselves. We were sympathetic on so many levels. If something weird happened, we would turn to each other and just say, ‘I know.'”

Out of the two of them, the Dirt actress was more vocal about the relationship than Keaton who preferred to be a private person. In an interview with Ladies Home JournalCox revealed the reason for their breakup saying that their lifestyles were quite different, pointing out the fact that Keaton was the father to a son he shared with his ex-wife Caroline McWilliams.
