“My friends said I looked like an alien”: Friends Star Matthew Perry’s Ex And Baywatch Bombshell Yasmine Bleeth Left Unrecognizable After Drug Abuse Charges

Fast forward to the 2020s, many celebrities of that era have retired while many were forced to leave their career behind due to mental issues, health issues, or drug addiction. One of these celebrities was Yasmine Bleeth, who starred in the 1990s show Baywatch. The actress rose to fame in 1993, however, her decline began in 1997. Very soon, the actress disappeared from the scene after she got addicted to drugs and also ran into trouble with the authorities.
Yasmine Bleeth rose to fame in the 1990s
Actress Yasmine Bleeth got the opportunity to appear in one episode of Baywatch in 1993. At the time, she was struggling in the industry and this opportunity completely changed her life. Her performance as Caroline Holden was loved by the fans and she instantly became a part of the main cast. The series also featured other stars like David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. However, Bleeth’s glory days came to end in 1997 as rumors about her drug addiction began swirling around.
The media began defaming the actress
Actress Gena Lee Nolin, who also starred in Baywatch, revealed in 2017 that Bleeth became a target for the mainstream media as they began defaming her. She recalled,
“I remember she was on the pay phone where we filmed and she scratched her nose and the Enquirer had three pictures of her. On the cover, it said ‘Yasmine Bleeth and drugs,’ or whatever. And at the time, when I met her, none of that was going on.”
However, the actress eventually got addicted to drugs which ultimately led to her decline.
Yasmine Bleeth got addicted to drugs
During the late 90s, the actress got addicted to drugs and even got in trouble with the authorities in the early 2000s. At the time, she was so addicted to drugs that her friends couldn’t even recognize her. In one of her interviews, the actress admitted that the drug abuse got worse. She said,
“My friends said I looked like an alien, that my eyes were popping out of my sockets.”
In 2000, the actress even got hospitalized, and just one year later she was arrested for driving under the influence of cocaine. In 2002, she was sentenced to two years of probation and 100 hours of community service.
