Frustrating News For Gal Gadot Fans, DCU Cancels Wonder Woman Plans
Gal Gadot has become a major player in the superhero genre and won fans all over the world with her depiction of Wonder Woman, one of the most well-known superheroes. In the 2016 film Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot made her debut as Wonder Woman. She then returned to the role for the 2017 film Wonder Woman and the 2020 film Wonder Woman 1984. Additionally, Gadot made a cameo appearance as Wonder Woman in the movie Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash.
Unfortunately, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman role seems to have been canceled, leaving her admirers heartbroken. Warner Bros. decided to discontinue Wonder Woman because it appears that they have new plans for the DC Universe.
DCU drops Wonder Woman 3
Previously, it was reported that Gal Gadot was going to reprise her role as the legendary superhero and that Patty Jenkins would return to direct Wonder Woman 3. However, The Flash‘s ending argued the contrary.
Fans were humming with anticipation as The Flash finally hit theatres, but behind the scenes, a series of decisions resulted in multiple changes to the movie’s conclusion. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the original concept for the conclusion involved Ezra Miller’s Flash teaming up with Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, Henry Cavill’s Superman, and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, rather than George Clooney’s Batman.
The appearance of Gal Gadot in The Flash would have signaled the release of the third Wonder Woman film. But the Wonder Woman 3 movie in which Gadot was supposed to star was scrapped. Additionally, Warner Bros. has stated that they are not currently working on any other Wonder Woman films.
Upcoming projects of Gal Gadot
Gal Gadot’s fans were devastated when Wonder Woman 3 was canceled, but the iconic actress still has a number of projects in the works. The action-packed thriller Heart of Stone is one of the most eagerly awaited films. The Netflix-exclusive movie, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Jamie Dornan, stars Gadot as CIA agent Rachel Stone. The movie will be released on August 11, 2023, on the streaming platform.

In addition to Heart of Stone, Gadot will also portray the ruthless Evil Queen in a fresh interpretation of the Snow White tale. The movie is currently in the pre-production stage. In addition, Gadot has been signed to star as the title character in the movie Cleopatra, which is based on the fabled Egyptian queen. Last but not least, Gadot will reprise her part in the sequel to the hugely popular Netflix movie Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. The first movie was a huge success, and the third movie has already been given the go-ahead. The second movie will debut on Netflix in November 2023.
