George Clooney Sent $20 Bill to Julia Roberts to Convince Her Into Joining His $1.4B Franchise With Sandra Bullock

The release of Ocean Eleven back in 2001 starring George Clooney and Julia Robert had taken the entire entertainment industry by storm. Even though the early cast of the movie did not have the stellar Julia Robert, Clooney was all set to get her into the movie. At that time Julia Robert was one of the biggest heroin of Hollywood charging a remarkable $20 million per film.
Talking about this Clooney said that he had already convinced Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon to be a part of the film but he was also very determined to get Julia Robert on board. As Robert was one the most sought-after actresses of that time, Clooney devised a creative plan to woo Robert into joining his movie.
Clooney said of Ocean’s Eleven, “I remember Julia. I didn’t know her, I’d never met her, and she was making $20 million a film, and we just talked Brad Pitt into doing it and Matt Damon into doing it, and we wanted Julia to do it. So, I put a $20 bill on a script and I sent it to her, and I said ‘I hear you get 20 a picture now.’
This audacious move at the end of Clooney played out very well as Julia Robert was happy to join his team which also signaled the beginning of their prolific partnership.

Talking with People, Clooney said “What a relief we’re not Hollywood friends,” Roberts said of her costar. “I just said to him an hour ago, ‘Thank god we do like each other, or we’d be in hell.'”
They even talked about how Clooney had Robert over at his house while she was first pregnant. Clooney recalled: “She stayed at my house in Italy when she was first pregnant. She brought all those monsters [Roberts’s kids Hazel, Phinnaeus, and Henry] back to the house when they were actually human beings and we’ve had a blast with them.”
