Giancarlo Esposito has had a huge fan base and following ever since his villainous turn as drug lord Gus Fring, on hit series Breaking Bad. Esposito later reprised the role on the prequel series Better Call Saul and is set to appear for the final time as Gus, in the show’s sixth season.

Recently, Esposito can be seen in the Star Wars show, The Mandalorian. He plays Moff Gideon, a villain set on capturing the now famous Baby Yoda. As well as this, Esposito has just revealed he is going to portray the main antagonist in Ubisoft’s sequel game, Far Cry 6.

Esposito’s career has never been better and fans have been vying for him to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time. Finally, the actor himself has hinted things may finally be lining up that way.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Giancarlo Esposito admitted he was a fan of the Marvel movies:

‘Well there’s been all these rumours about being with Marvel – I want to work with those guys. I put it out there all the time. I haven’t created any of those rumours, but I worked years ago with Louis D’Esposito, who’s one of the guys at Marvel, back when he was doing Cotton Club and I was doing Cotton Club, he was the First AD. What they do is fantastic, and I want to do something enduring with them… I think the Marvel world would be, likely, the next step for me…’

Esposito is clearly up for it and that’s something Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are sure to take note of. Now, as to who Esposito should play, several fan casts have had him lined up as the MCU’s Dr Doom for a long time.
