GoT’s Lena Headey Is ‘John Wick Meets Equalizer’ In New Netflix Movie You Wont Want To Miss
The action movie franchise has given us many intriguing characters. The Fast & Furious, the Transporter Series, Rambo, John Wick, The Equalizer, and a host of other action shows have entertained us for years. The genre has been mainly been dominated by male stars that play characters with a knack for violence and bloodshed. But why should guys have all the fun. Game of Thrones actor Lena Headey, who starred as Cersei Lannister in the hit HBO series, is starring in an action movie of her own.
Enter Gunpowder Milkshake. Lena Headey plays a ruthless female hitman/assassin who will not stop at anything till she gest the job done. Does the movie look good? Oh hell freaking yeah!!
Hollywood has had a recent surge in movies where a mysterious person who keeps to himself turns out to be a ruthless killer in disguise trying to escape his past. From the hit Netflix movie Polar to Bob Odenkirk‘s Nobody, a lot has been going on in that area. People might be getting oversaturated with the sub-genre being so stuffed with movie after movie with a similar story arc. But it looks like Gunpowder Milkshake might be the breath of fresh air the genre needed at this moment.
The Netflix movie will tell the story of a group of ruthless and super talented female assassins. These assassins will be played by some of the most successful female actors Hollywood has to offer. Karen Gillan, Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh, Chloe Coleman, and Carla Gugino star alongside Lean Headey in this movie. Headey’s fellow Game of Thrones actor Ralph Ineson (Dagmer Cleftjaw) and Paul Giamatti of Shoot Em Up will also star in the movie. The movie is shaping up to be the real deal.
The Story So Far
The story follows Karen Gillan’s character having a falling out with some real bad people. So in order to protect her daughter (played by Coleman), she assists the help of her mother Scarlet, played by Headey. Scarlet is a renowned assassin and soon she enlists the help of her work colleagues to take down the bad guys. Although it does sound like a pretty cliché story line, it shows promise because of the studded star cast.
The Movie is one of the most anticipated films in the genre. The people who viewed the comments said the movie shows Headey as a mix and match of John Wick’s subtle ruthlessness with The Equalizer’s calculated proficiency. Will this movie deliver on its promise?
