The actor’s cabinet included accolades like NAACP Image Award, Satellite Award, Television Critics Association Award, and Primetime Emmy Award.

Braugher was also known for being very gentle and warm in his conversations with people around him. This included him playfully teasing some of the crew members on the set.

Late actor Andre Braugher was appreciated by people around him for his tender attitude. However, it seems like that wasn’t always the case. He was a gentleman in the true sense although the way he teased some of the crew members of the show might have been a little terrifying for them.

Soon after Braugher’s shocking death, Prentice Penny, a writer and producer on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, revealed how during their conversations, when a White person would pass them, he would go all serious.

This was just the actor’s way of pranking them and making them feel awkward.

He did not have any malicious intentions at all. The sole reason he did this seems to be because he wanted to joke around but used a different tactic to achieve it instead of actually using a joke.

Andre Braugher unfortunately lost his life at the age of 61 due to lung cancer (via PEOPLE) and the news left many of his fans devastated. People from around the world were unable to believe the news and expressed their love for him online.

Fans got the chance to learn a little more about him in Penny’s post and expressed how heartbroken they were to have lost the gem of an actor.

At the same time, some fans also mentioned that they wanted Brooklyn Nine-Nine to premier a few more episodes with Braugher so that they could enjoy the actor’s presence for a little longer. 

The shocking news of his death in December 2023 left many shocked. Apart from fans, many of his co-workers like Terry Crews, Viola Davis, and Shonda Rhimes took to their official accounts to pay tribute to him.

Braugher had appeared in numerous other projects besides the sitcom, both in supporting roles as well as lead roles. The last of these was The Residence, produced by Shonda Rhimes.
