The Guardians Of The Galaxy actor Zoe Saldana has always been confused with the British actor Thandiwe Newton. The actor duo share strikingly similar facial features that even their fans are confused with respect to them. During the promotion of her 2019 movie with The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis, the actor appeared in the autocomplete interview by Wired. According to a question about whether she is British or not, the actor clearly pointed out that she has no idea about it, but there is a woman named Thandiwe Newton and they have always been confused for each other.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden along with actor Jason Clarke, the Avatar actor spoke about how even her mother gets confused between Thandiwe Newton and her. She said-
“My mom still thinks that I’m in Westworld,” “I’m like, ‘Years ago, you thought that I was in Traffic.‘ I’m like, ‘Mom, you did not give birth to Thandiwe Newton,’”
She further added-
“And then again, she was like, ‘Your show is on HBO!’ And I was like, ‘Which one?’ She goes, ‘Westworld! I was like, ‘When are you going to understand I am not Thandiwe Newton!’”
Zoe Saldana recalled meeting Thandiwe Newton during the Golden Globe Awards. She had asked the God’s Country actor whether people confused the actor with her. The duo had a great time and according to Zoe Saldana, they are good friends now.
