For years, Marvel has worked its way into surprising its audience in every which way possible. The studios are practically known for hiding relevant details in unnoticed areas of the film, thus giving the audience something to talk about every time a new Easter Egg is discovered.
Gwen Stacy’s appearance
In the latest MCU’s The Avengers: Endgame, several hidden Easter Eggs were discovered only after people repeatedly watched the film. One such Easter Egg was the unexpected appearance of Gwen Stacy.
Towards the end of the film, the Avengers succeed in bringing back all the population that had been wiped out after Thanos’ Snap in the previous The Avengers: Infinity War. After the final war ends, Peter Parker is shown going back to his high school to reunite with his constant Ned. In the scene where Parker meets Ned in the corridor, we see Gwen Stacy walk by his behind.
How we know it is Gwen Stacy
While we cannot see her face in the scene, Marvel has given us enough reason to believe that it is indeed her who is walking down the corridor. She is portrayed as a blonde wearing a black spider-web printed skirt. On top of that, she is shown carrying a pink backpack on her shoulders. Each one of these qualities signifies her style, hence making her a hidden Easter Egg in the movie.
Gwen is nowhere talked about in The Avengers: Endgame, but she remains to be a significant part of the extended Spider-Family. She was a prominent character in all the MCU movies that she was in, becoming into a recognizable and bankable character.
Gwen Stacy was absolutely loved by the audience, making her appearance an emotional one for the audience.
