Gwyneth Paltrow’s Controversial Remarks
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow testified in her ski collision trial on March 24, 2023. Optometrist Dr. Sanderson had sued Paltrow in 2019 for $3.1 million, alleging that she had collided with him on a ski slope at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah in 2016, resulting in a permanent traumatic brain injury.
As part of the ongoing ski collision trial, entrepreneur, Paltrow filed a countersuit against Sanderson, claiming that he had crashed into her on the ski slope. She further requested $1 in damages and reimbursement for her legal fees from Dr. Sanderson.
During the trial, Sanderson’s lawyer, Kristin Vanorman, spent more than an hour questioning the Marvel actress about the circumstances leading up to the collision. While testifying, Paltrow maintained that Sanderson was responsible for the ski collision incident. Reflecting on the event, the actress recounted,
“Well, I was confused at first, and I didn’t know exactly what was happening. It’s a very strange thing to happen on a ski slope. And I froze, and I would say I got very upset a couple of seconds later.” Further, she shared,
“I was skiing and two skis came between my skis, forcing my legs apart, and then there was a body pressing against me. And there was a very strange grunting noise, so my brain was trying to make sense of what was happening. I thought, ‘Is this a practical joke? Is someone, like, doing something perverted?”
During the hearing, the doctor’s lawyer inquired about the damages to the Seven star had incurred during her 2016 vacation as a result of the ski collision, and said,
“He has deterred you from enjoying the rest of what was a very expensive vacation”
The actress replied to the inquiry by saying, “Well, I lost half a day of skiing.”
Following Paltrow’s response during the testimony, the video clip went viral on social media and prompted humorous reactions.
