Harrison Ford’s Big Farewell to Indiana Jones Franchise is Now Ruined as the $295 Million Movie is Set For a Big Disaster
Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones has already hit the theatres across the world. The 80-year-old actor’s fans who had been waiting for the sequel of the action-drama franchise for the past fifteen long years, have finally got their due. With the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise actor Harrison Ford has waved goodbye to his second home in the movie industry.
Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in May. Despite getting a standing ovation at the prestigious film festival the movie has received a lukewarm reception from the audience. It has been speculated whether Harrison Ford starrer fifth chapter of Indiana Jones would not be able to cover half of the budget it was made at.
Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones Bombed At The Box Office
Harrison Ford has always been one of the major draws behind the popularity of the Indiana Jones franchise. As the Star Wars actor had already hung his fedora hat and boots, the die-hard fans of the actor are happily hitting the theatres to witness his last ride with the Indiana Jones Universe. However, according to recent reports on the box office status, the movie has fallen on its face. Even during the holiday weekend of the 4th of July, the highly anticipated project of James Mangold has totally failed to create magic with the numbers at the box office. According to industry estimates, the movie could only gross about $82 million with respect to domestic revenues.
As per the reputed media outlet Variety, Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny could only manage to secure around $11.8 million on Monday, which further went on to increase up to $71 million with respect to the domestic revenues.

With a star-studded cast, the James Mangold-directed action-drama franchise’s fifth installment was made on a whopping budget of $295 million. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the most expensive installment from the Harrison Ford-led franchise. The fourth installment of the franchise Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, released in 2008, was a huge hit with box office numbers. Disney’s objective behind the promotion of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny backfired and this even led to the movie being subjected to a bad rotten tomato score on the rating platform.
Harrison Ford Reflects Back On His Journey With Indiana Jones
The 80-year-old Harrison Ford devoted four decades of his acting career to Indiana Jones. He has been one of the most prominent faces behind the franchise. With his quest for historical civilizations and fear of snakes, he went on to become one of the most loved characters in the history of Hollywood.
During an interview with the BBC, the actor was teary-eyed and reflected back on his journey with the franchise that made him a larger-than-life star in Hollywood. Harrison Ford said-
“I think the thing that I most admire about them is the depth and subtlety of the emotion and the importance of emotion in these films. As this last one concern age and frailty and changing nature of life, it was especially compelling to me, because I am of that age and I wanted it to feel real for the audience. I wanted them to see the complexity of that experience with someone they’ve spent 40 years with.”
Host Ali Plumb expressed his gratitude towards the actor and went on to thank him on behalf of his million fans around the world, the host said-
“Can I just say, on behalf of all the fans, thank you? It’s been such an adventure. We love you so much. I don’t want to make you blush or anything, but you mean the world to us, and thank you.”
While talking about his association with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Harrison Ford said-
“This is the final film in the series, and this is the last time I’ll play the character. I anticipate that it will be the last time that he appears in a film.”
The fifth sequel of the Indiana Jones franchise has already hit the theatres on July 30, 2023.
