Have the Eternals already appeared in the MCU? The answer is yes, and here are the details!
Marvel has been renowned for introducing subtle cameos, which later turn onto prominent pivotal roles. You never know who might be the big star in the next Marvel movie and where he or she has made an appearance. The Studios has never backed out on its characters. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has done a commendable job when it comes to introducing characters from the ComicVerse. Small characters have been highlighted well, and in the time of need, they have made it to the spotlight. But Marvel’s upcoming epic venture has already made an appearance in the previous movies. The Eternals is all slated to release on the 6th of November, but they have previously been teased.
The Leak
Earlier this weekend, Richard Madden, who plays Ikaris and Salma Hayek, who plays Ajak, got their promo arts leaked online. Their looks were slightly updated, and Ikaris was shown with a glowing hand. The effects are similar to that of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. Logically, we presume that Ikaris has come in contact with the Tesseract, the same device containing the same infinity stones which made Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel.
The Existing Storyline
The above assumptions were strengthened by the fact that The Collector had already introduced The Eternals indirectly. In a scene in The Guardians of the Galaxy, The Collector is seen explaining the origin of the Infinity Stones to the Guardians. In the visuals which The Collector uses, we can see Eson, The Searcher razing a planet of an alien form. Just after that, we see a group of eight individuals harnessing the stones before disintegrating them. The Collector reveals that they could hold the items for a moment, and that is when it strikes us; these were The Eternals!
Why did they do it?
But why did The Eternals hold the stones? Were the only ones strong enough to hold them? There would be two conflicting ideas when we try to answer this. They either did it voluntarily or they had to do it as a necessity. The latter train of thought takes up the fact that The Celestials probably used the stones to do experiments on The Eternals. These experiments might have been the reason for the powers of The Eternals. This stands as a strong possibility as The Celestials have been hungry for power since forever.
With these theories, we can conclude that The Eternals have been teased before, and it is on the 6th of November that the whole world will confirm these theories! Here is The Collector explaining the origin of the Infinity Stones:
