Hawkeye Season 2 Update is Worse Than What Fans Expected for Jeremy Renner as Marvel States the Obvious With Hailee Steinfeld Returning

Looking at the Avengers movies, fans always saw Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye as more of a secondary character. He assisted the big leagues’ superheroes in defeating villains since he had no advanced tech or godly superpowers. However, the Disney+ series put Hawkeye on center stage and told his story like it was meant to be told.
Clint Barton is not just an arrow-slinging yes-man. He is a master assassin, an expert tactician, and a great mentor. All these qualities are explored in the Hawkeye series which also introduces Kate Bishop who is next in line to take Barton’s legacy forward. Initially, it was supposed to be a miniseries, but reportedly a second season of Hawkeye is in the works.
Recent update on Hawkeye Season 2
Earlier this year, Marvel announced that a second season of Hawkeye has been greenlit and will be developed to take Kate Bishop’s story to another level. Played by Hailee Steinfeld, the character is supposed to carry the baton ahead after Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye retires. Hence, the major focus of the story has been on Steinfeld’s character rather than Barton himself.
Moreover, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova also comes into the spotlight with the series. The developing focus on Bishop and Belova gives way to the Thunderbolts and Young Avengers team-up in the future. Insider Alez Perez was recently asked about further developments on the Hawkeye season 2 front to which he responded,
I’ve heard that Hawkeye S2 is in development with several ideas, primarily one that would put Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop in a more prominent role than she was in the first season. But again, being in development and moving forward are two very different things.
While this update seems redundant because Bishop has always been the central character in the series, the claim might hint at Barton’s even lesser role in the second season. Another insider revealed in the past that Disney is trying to cut costs and hence, will mostly film Hawkeye season 2 in one location. They further claimed that the season will introduce Barney Barton, Clint’s brother to the story.
Hailee Steinfeld’s Upcoming Projects
Steinfeld’s acting skills have impressed the industry as well as the fandom. She was previously known for her pop songs but now, he is gradually spreading her roots in Hollywood and adding more diverse projects to her filmography. Her upcoming projects include Arcane season 2 on Netflix where she voices the character Vi.
Steinfeld is also associated with a supernatural thriller flick by Warner Bros which is being directed by Ryan Coogler. Moreover, Hawkeye is not the only Marvel project featuring Steinfeld. She is also a part of the massively successful Spider-Verse movies which will be releasing a third movie very soon. In the animated trilogy, she voices the central character of Gwen Stacy who dons the Spider-Woman outfit and slings across various dimensions.
