The actor who most recently seen in The Invisible Man.
He also won critical acclaim for his upcoming performance as Jim Brown in the drama One Night in Miami which also stars Hamilton‘s Leslie Odom Jr. The actor was also in Straight Outta Compton, a biopic about the rap supergroup where he played MC Ren.

Black Adam (2021)
Concept art for Black Adam debuted at DC FanDome on August 23, 2020.
The Justice Society of America is also confirmed to appear in this much-anticipated outing.
Watch the teaser here:
This is Johnson’s first appearance in a superhero movie where he plays the antagonist or anti-hero.
The FanDome teaser introduced us to a little bit of the character’s backstory, his origins, and his motivations.
The concept art teaser also introduced to the world to what looked like the big-screen debut of the Justice Society of America.
In the comics, the legendary superteam preceded the Justice League and even fought in the world war.
“I have a knack for destroying bullies, but there are some who think I need help,” narrated Johnson as the titular Black Adam in the animated teaser. “Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and their new recruits: Cyclone and Atom Smasher. They call themselves the Justice Society, an organization that believes in fighting for truth and justice. Well, I’m going to teach them that the only beliefs I fight for are mine. Welcome to truth, justice, and the Black Adam way.”
Among the founding members of the team were Alan Scott (The Green Lantern), Jay Garrick (The Flash), Kent Nelson (Doctor Fate), Ted Grant (Wildcat), and Carter Hall (Hawkman)
These members also fought alongside the next generation of heroes who took up the same names as their mentors such as Stargirl, the new Dr. Fate, and Wildcat II.
Black Adam will see Doctor Fate and second-generation heroes, Cyclone and Atom Smasher appear on the screen.
Noah Centineo, the teen movie heartthrob will play Atom Smasher. He is a size-changing hero with super strength and a friend of Black Adam’s from the comics.
Hawkman – A Complicated Character
Hawkman is a complicated character to get right with multiple iterations. His story is made that much more tangled owing to his backstory. He has been an alien space cop, a reincarnated Egyptian Pharaoh, and many more avatars where he’s fought crime beside his lover and partner, Hawkgirl. It is unlikely we may see Hawkgirl in Black Adam, but fingers crossed.
Its also great to see a talented actor like Aldis Hodge, suiting up as the fierce winged warrior alongside classic JSA heroes. Hodge has the intensity, talent, and versatility to take on this role with relative ease.
The Men Behind the Magic
The director is Jaume Collet-Serra. Collet-Serra helmed box-office successes like House of Wax and Orphan and will be taking the reins as the director for this superhero venture. Collet-Serra has already worked with Johnson, directing him in Jungle Cruise alongside Emily Blunt.
Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani who wrote Informer wrote the latest draft of the script. The previous draft was by Adam Sztykiel who wrote Rampage, coincidentally a Dwayne Johnson outing.
Johnson is also producing the film which will see him change the power structure of the DC universe.
We’re equally excited to see the Thanagarian soar across our screens come 2021 along with other JSA members for the first time.
