Following Tristan Thompson’s paternity scandal, Khloé Kardashian offered a rare insight into her complicated co-parenting relationship. She was unwilling to accept any help with paying for her daughter True’s extravagant 4th birthday party. A new episode of The Kardashians brought more drama between Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, released on November 3.
Due to a conflicting basketball game, Tristan Thompson could not attend True’s 4th birthday party in April, and Khloé Kardashian learned he planned to pay for his daughter’s entire birthday party celebration. However, she declined his offer. While it’s still unclear who covered the bill, the topic continued to create tension between the two ex-partners.

It doesn’t matter how young a girl is; diamonds are her best friend. During Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson‘s daughter True Thompson’s 4th birthday celebration in April, he gave her a blinged-out necklace. On Thursday’s episode of Hulu’s, The Kardashians, Khloé K, 38, showed a photo of the pricey present to True’s party planner, Mindy Weiss.
The Kardashians said, “Her dad got her this diamond necklace this morning, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.'”
According to a source, in addition to the price tag, Jenny Luker, president of Platinum Guild International USA, estimates the jewel to be worth $25,000.
She said,
“It looks like a Riviera necklace with around 4 carats of diamonds in honor of True’s 4th birthday, set in platinum. This style typically features round, graduated diamonds, and True’s has a unique twist — a heart-shaped stone on the side! Also, since the necklace is set in platinum, all these special diamonds are held securely.”
A necklace wasn’t the only gift the basketball star wanted to give his daughter. During the celebration, Kris Jenner pulled Kardashian aside to tell her she received a call from Thompson, who said he “privately went ahead and took care of the whole party.” Thompson did not attend the celebration due to a basketball game that day, Kardashian revealed earlier in the episode.
Khloé K replied, “And I’m so excited that I could do it myself. He’s not taking care of the whole party. That’s nice, but I won’t let that happen.”
The Revenge Body alum added in a confessional, “I work hard to do elaborate things for True, and I don’t need anyone’s help.”
Although Kardashian tried to cover Thompson for not attending the party, and as guests arrived at the party, Khloé K discussed his absence with a close friend, “Her dad got her this diamond necklace. Unfortunately, he [can’t come because] he has a game today.”
According to photos posted on social media at the time, True wore an iced-out choker to her party, although viewers didn’t see it in the episode. The birthday girl and her mom wore coordinating pink Dior outfits at the party. True Thompson wore her new diamond accessory with a logo-printed dress trimmed with feathers at her party, and she wore blush-colored vintage monogrammed jeans and a matching corset top.
Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s Complicated Co-Parenting Relationship
Tristan Thompson and Khloé Kardashian have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2016. Kardashian and Thompson started dating in 2016, and in 2018 they welcomed their first child, True Thompson. The couple split in June 2021 before reuniting in September 2021. After learning that Thompson was expecting a child with another woman Maralee Nichols, Khloé K ended her romantic relationship with the NBA player in January of this year.
Despite no longer being together, the reality star and NBA player Tristan Thompson co-parent True and their son, whom they welcomed via surrogate in July.
