“He cares more than everybody”: Marvel Studio Head Feels What If..? Season 3 Will Change Fans’ Mind About The Watcher

After wrapping up a glorious season of X-Men ‘97, Marvel executives are preparing to release the next season of What If..? According to Comicbook.com, Executive Producer and Marvel Studios Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum claimed,
What If…? Season Three is — that might be the one that comes out next, in terms of animation. That is the culmination of a trilogy. We’re actually close to completing that one, and it really feels like you’ve gone through this amazing emotional experience with Uatu, in a way that’s… What’s great about The Watcher is that he presents himself as uncaring, and cold, and just an observer, but he cares more than everybody [and] anybody. That is on full display in that third season.
The Watcher has been portrayed as an unbiased observer, a new type of character in Marvel projects. Fans don’t know much about his identity or purpose in the show other than narrating the events and guiding the viewers to specific conclusions.
However, as teased by Winderbaum, the third season of What If…? could completely alter our view of the Watcher as he might get involved in the story and trigger a branch in reality. This can further connect to the upcoming culmination of the Marvel phases and bring all the heroes together.
What If…? Season 3 First Look Revelations
Marvel released the first look at What If…? season 3 showcasing some of the characters who will have their own storyline in this segment. This includes Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, Agent Morales (voiced by America Ferrera), Monica Rambeau, and Red Guardian. The signature comedy and action combination will continue in the third season of What If…? and is bound to give fans a deeper insight into the characters they admire.
