Following weeks of rumors, Prince Harry’s attendance at his father, King Charles’ coronation was officially announced by Buckingham Palace on April 12; Meghan Markle will stay in California to celebrate their son Archie Harrison’s birthday.

However, there was reportedly some tension with Kate Middleton regarding the possibility of her sister-in-law attending behind the scenes. Recent reports claim that Prince William explicitly instructed courtiers to keep Markle away from his wife if she would have accepted the invitation to King Charles’ coronation.

The Prince of Wales is said to have reached a “compromise” with his father, who wanted both of his sons present at his coronation, before agreeing to extend invitations to his brother, Prince Harry, and his wife.

Prince William Won’t Allow the Duchess of Sussex to Attend the Coronation

It was “one of the hardest things she’s ever had to do,” according to Kate Middleton, to spend time with her sister-in-law, Duchess of Sussex, during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

As Buckingham Palace announced that it was “pleased to confirm” Prince Harry’s attendance at King Charles’ coronation without his wife, recent sources have now revealed the measures taken by the Prince of Wales to safeguard his wife’s wellbeing.

A reliable source further claimed that Prince William made the final arrangements to prevent Meghan Markle from attending the historic Westminster Abbey event on May 6.

The King, 74, reportedly “dither[ed]” about what to do regarding the Sussexes, according to insiders. And that’s when 40-year-old Prince William intervened. The invitation was extended to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well. But it’s safe to say that the Prince of Wales took a cold approach to it.

According to the insider, he was telling courtiers that the Suits actress shouldn’t be allowed to be near Kate Middleton after everything she had caused his wife to go through.

Kate Middleton Has Maintained Distance From Her Sister-In-Law

A well-known royal biographer has alleged that Kate Middleton ‌prevented her sister-in-law from attending King Charles’ upcoming coronation. According to royal sources, Meghan Markle’s will be staying in Montecito with her children was “probably for the best,” but it would be unfortunate for the King. He was eager to get a memorable family photo with all five of his grandchildren.

Prince William’s order was made following the now-famous ‘Windsor Walkabout’. After the Queen’s death in September ‌last year, he, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle made an effort to put their differences aside and greet well-wishers.

Now that His Majesty’s special day is less than two weeks away, the source claimed, “William is not messing around this time. The situation is too toxic and he doesn’t trust Meghan. He’s not willing to risk upsetting Kate again.”

While Middleton kept her distance from the former actress, keen royal observers noticed that not a single word had been exchanged between the two women for a long time.

In any case, the tensions between the two have only gotten worse, particularly after the Sussexes attacked the Royal family in Prince Harry’s autobiography, Spare, and their Netflix docuseries.
