“He oughta hope that he goes to jail”: Late Actor Paul Sorvino Who Stood Up Against Predator Harvey Weinstein Not Deemed Important Enough by Oscars, Snubbed Him From Memoriam Category
The Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein had exploited and sexually abused several women over the years before some of his victims spoke out and helped put an end to his crimes. One of the many celebrities who wanted to take revenge on Weinstein was the late American actor Paul Anthony Sorvino. According to reports, Sorvino had threatened the producer for harassing and blacklisting his daughter Mira. The Money Talks star became furious after his daughter made shocking claims about Weinstein’s sexual behavior with her in the 1990s.
Paul Sorvino wanted to take revenge on Harvey Weinstein
Harvey Weinstein was one of the powerful Hollywood producer during 90’s. Weinstein became the focus of every media outlet as many actresses started to revealed their heartbreaking stories as he allegedly use to harras the newcomer’s in the industry in exchange for movie offers.
Paul Sorvino told TMZ in his interview that he wanted Weinstein to be in jail for his crimes. He said,
“I will kill the motherf***er.”
He continued,
“If I meet him on the street, he ought to hope he goes to jail because if we come across, I think he’ll be lying on the floor somehow magically,”
The Bloodbrother movie actor further revealed that he was unaware of his daughter Mira Sorvino’s alleged horrible encounter with Harvey Weinstein and about her claims that the producer attempted to damage her career.
Mira Sorvino slams Oscars for the removal of Paul Sorvino
During the 95th Academy Awards Oscars special memoriam segments, actor John Travolta paid tribute to actors and filmmakers who died and left behind their legacy over the years. However, Paul Sorvino was noticeably missing from the Oscars ceremony’s slideshow of late actors’ pictures.
After learning of the same, his daughter Mira Sorvino took to Twitter as she slams the Oscars. She wrote,
“I for one am remembering Dad on this Oscars night.It is baffling beyond belief that my beloved father and many other amazing brilliant departed actors were left out.”
She continued,
“The Oscars forgot about Paul Sorvino, but the rest of us never will.”
Dee Dee Benkie, Paul Sorvino’s wife, also slammed the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and asked them to apologize for his absence.
