“He really empowered me in that way”: Tom Hiddleston’s Fiance Was Awestruck After Marvel Star Gave Her Advice About Joining Brie Larson’s Movie
Tom Hiddleston gained international recognition with his role as the God of Mischief, Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first movie that he appeared in as Loki was 2011’s Thor. It was also his breakthrough role and he has given the credit for it to filmmaker Kenneth Branagh who urged the Marvel Studios to give Hiddleston a chance.
Years after that first MCU movie, Hiddleston is still a part of the franchise with his own Disney+ Marvel show whose second season is going to be released later this year. Hilariously, his fiance Zawe Ashton is also joining the franchise as a villain. Like the good fiance he is, Hiddleston gave Ashton some really great advice.
Tom Hiddleston’s Valuable Advice to Zawe Ashton
Tom Hiddleston‘s fiance Zawe Ashton is going to star as the Kree villain Dar-Benn in the upcoming superhero film The Marvels which will be featuring Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Iman Vellani’s Miss Marvel. The Velvet Buzzsaw actress had received some advice from Hiddleston which warned her against the bathroom-unfriendly costumes. However, this wasn’t all as she later revealed the rest of his advice, saying:
“One of the main takeaways from our conversations was ‘What you put into Marvel, you get back.’ He said, ‘If you go into this with an open heart and a great work ethic and just want to provide an amazing experience for the fans, you’ll have an amazing experience on those sets.’ He really empowered me in that way.”
Despite starring in many great movies and shows such as The Night Manager and Only Lovers Left Alive, Tom Hiddleston is most known for his portrayal of Loki. He is one of the very few people who have managed to persist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for this long so any advice coming from him is of utmost significance.
Zawe Ashton Joining The Marvels Is Unsurprising
There are very few actors in Hollywood who haven’t been a part of the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in their career. From Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke to popstar Harry Styles, there isn’t a single popular name in Hollywood that isn’t linked to MCU in some way.
Zawe Ashton joining the MCU comes as less of a surprise than if she wasn’t a part of the franchise. What actually is surprising here is that although Ashton had previously auditioned for other Marvel movies and not gotten cast, she had never auditioned for The Marvels and yet she received a call from director Nia DaCosta herself with the offer for a role in movie.
As busy as Loki is right now with jumping timelines, hopefully we will get to see Tom Hiddleston cross paths with an alternate version of his partner’s character Dar-Benn somewhere along the way. Even if it doesn’t happen, at least they are parts of the same franchise.
