Why is Kelly Ripa’s show facing backlash?

The popular talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan has taken a swing ever since veteran host Ryan Seacrest left the show. Seacrest’s departure from the show left fans disheartened. But the show didn’t cease with his departure. Soon after Seacrest left the show, Live! was joined by Kelly Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos. With the new entry in the show, certain amendments were made. Since Seacrest is no longer a part of Live!, the makers of the show changed its name from Live with Kelly and Ryan to Live with Kelly and Mark.

The makers of the show simply changed the host’s name from the title and kept the rest the same. The title of the show suggests that it serves live content to its audience. But lately, the show has failed to meet the expectations of its fans, for which it is facing severe backlash today.

The viewers of the show were disappointed as the Live! show broadcasted a pre-recorded episode. During the episode, Consuelos told the viewers,

“It is April 20, 2023,”

and Ripa continued,

“It’s Thursday, and the week is flying by.”

However, the viewers were already aware of the pre-recorded episode, as the words “Previously recorded” appeared at the bottom of the screen.

The viewers of the show expressed their disappointment and tweeted,

“All the ‘previously recorded’ starts! Where they don’t say it’s NOT Live.”

Another user wrote,

“Fourth show and already Live @kellymarklive isn’t.”

Another user sarcastically suggested,

“Why not just record five in one day and call it a week? #youknowyouwantto.”

Another critic added,

“It would be nice to see an audience again and for the shows to actually be live and not prerecorded.”

The show has highly disappointed its viewers, who are predicting that it won’t last. The audience of the show is no longer satisfied with the content served to them. Fans took to Twitter to show their discontent with the show. A user tweeted,

“Kelly And Mark’s show is just dumb! This morning they were talking about how Mark snores at night! Had to instantly change the channel at my job,”

Another fan wrote,

“I don’t see this show lasting… I’m not interested in watching a spinoff of NY Housewives….”

A third viewer emphasized that someone else must have replaced Ryan Seacrest. The user wrote,

“Day 2 of watching. I mean it’s not bad but I am pretty sure there were other people who could’ve been a replacement for Ryan Seacrest. Mark looks uncomfortable.”

Since the show couldn’t follow up on its policy of ‘live’, the show is being criticized by its audience, which may affect the show further.
