Henry Cavill Teases Argylle Sequel: “If Matthew comes calling…”
Henry Cavill’s 2024 has just begun with one of his most anticipated projects, Argylle. The Matthew Vaughn-directed meta spy drama saw its theatrical release on 2nd February. To watch the DC actor step into the shoes of an imaginary spy is no less than a treat to the eyes. However, Argylle has been in the spotlight ever since its production was announced.
Henry Cavill has come up with yet another exciting update on the Argylle. The British actor teased about the sequel of Argylle depending upon the audience’s reception.
Henry Cavill Teases The Idea Of Argylle Sequel
Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle cleared the speculation around Henry Cavill entering the James Bond franchise after Casino Royale star Daniel Craig hung his boots as the most celebrated spy in the world of cinema. The development of Argylle was announced back in 2021. Apple TV+ entered the picture and bought the rights for $200 million and declared the first movie in the meta spy drama franchise.
During a recent interview with the famous entertainment outlet Variety, Henry Cavill and Sam Rockwell appeared for the promotion of Argylle. The actor duo spoke about the meta spy project, and their characters and even teased the idea of the sequel of Argylle. While talking about Argylle, Sam Rockwell said-
“I guess we just want to see how it does, it all depends on whether the audience likes what we’ve done.”
Cavill added-
“If Matthew comes calling, I’d certainly say yes,”
The Mission Impossible- Fallout actor even mentioned-
“While it takes advantage of super spy tropes and dials them up to 11, it’s a different sort of thing. Although Argylle obviously takes himself seriously due to the nature of his existence, the movie and the tone of the movie doesn’t, so it’s quite a different approach to a character like that.”
With phenomenal actors like Henry Cavill, Samuel L. Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, and Bryce Dallas Howard undoubtedly Argylle is on its way to becoming the huge financial hit of 2024, so we can definitely expect the sequel of Argylle.
Henry Cavill Talks About Playing The Character Of Agent Argylle
Henry Cavill’s fans have waited for a long time to see him in the shoes of James Bond, but the 40-year-old English actor has surprised the world with the Meta spy Agent Argylle. During an interview with Total Film via Games Radar, Henry Cavill spoke about his experience of playing Agent Argylle and even hinted towards an expulsion from the super spy franchise, James Bond. He said-
“It’s a fun character. Whether I’m ruled out of Bond because of this or not is up to Barbara Broccoli and Mr. Wilson,”
While talking about his look in Argylle, Henry Cavill even said-
“Matthew came up with it, and said, ‘Look, trust me, I can make it look good. You know what? You don’t just wake up and have a flat top. It takes work. I don’t know if I have the time or the patience for that kind of carry-on when it comes to my hair, in real life.”
Henry Cavill would be seen in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming project The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The plot of the movie is based on the Second World War and a group of experts who are on a mission to defeat the Nazis.
