Now there is a buzz going on that an Argylle prequel series is in the works, which might turn this into a series and Henry Cavill’s Enola Holmes co-star might be all set to join the franchise.

Henry Cavill’s Former Co-star Louis Partridge Is All Set To Join Argylle Franchise?

Louis Partridge has recently become a Hollywood heartthrob with his role as Lord Tewkesbury in the Netflix films Enola Holmes (2020) and Enola Holmes 2 (2022). Although he has not been in the landscape for long, he is already making a name for himself with his role as Sid Vicious in the miniseries Pistol (2022).

It seems like he is all set to conquer what can prove to be his breakthrough role in the industry. According to reports by Deadline, director Matthew Vaughn is thinking of casting him as the younger version of Henry Cavill’s spy in the Argylle prequel.

Argylle is the next big thing on the spy action thriller horizon and it has already generated enough buzz due to the mysterious author Elly Conway, who refuses to disclose her identity despite cracking a multi-million dollar franchise on her first ever book. This would also mark Henry Cavill’s biggest project since his exit from DC and The Witcher TV series. Henry Cavill and Louis Partridge have shared screens before in Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2, where Cavill played the titular detective, Sherlock Holmes.

Henry Cavill Confirms Highlander Role: Teases ‘Serious Ride” In The Reboot

Henry Cavill recently confirmed that the Highlander reboot is still happening. Cavill was confirmed for the role in 2021 and with showrunner Chad Stahelski aiming for a 2026 release date, it would mark 5 years of Cavill being in the project.

The movie will remake the 1986 original, which was a flop at the box office but gained critical favor after a while. Although Cavill has yet to confirm his role, he will reportedly appear as the lead, Connor MacLeod, in the movie. While speaking to Comicbook.com, the Argylle spy teased that his take on the character would be much more serious than his predecessors. Although he talked about his workout and how he is getting in shape for the role, he is pretty tight-lipped beyond that. When the outlet asked for some tidbits of what to expect, Cavill cheekily said,

“I’m not going to answer that just yet. There’s a lot of work to be done yet on my part. It’s going to be a serious ride, I’ll tell you that much.”

When asked what would be the difference between John Wick and Highlander, Chad Stahelski opened up in March 2023 to Deadline and gave quite a detailed idea of what was to come and how it would be totally distinct from his John Wick series.

“What’s different between Wick and that? With Wick, you weren’t serving seven seasons of TV plus two spinoffs plus five films. If I were to do a remake of Highlander right now, you’d expect a lot of mythology in those first two hours; you couldn’t explore stuff without it. Now, Highlander as a TV show now would be amazing. You’d have time to build it out, see all those flashbacks and the potential of it. It’s trickier when you’re trying to do something with that big of a mythology. But I agree, that would be one to take a really big stab at. Here, we just had the opportunity to really learn as we went on with Wick.”

Although there are only breadcrumbs of information available now, it is mostly because the film is in the early stages of development. The audience will know more as the release date gets closer.

Argylle is all set to premiere on February 2, 2024.
