Kelly Ripa is a hoot and she keeps proving that time and again. The chat show host has just published her first book Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories, which is an anthology of Ripa’s real-life anecdotes, a memoir of sorts. The book is another testament to the actress’ boisterous wit and humor, and also the many roles she embodies in her life every day, as a woman.
However, one of the stories is a laugh riot, plain and simple. The context of the story is already a headline that reads, Kelly Ripa passed out during lovemaking with her husband Mark Consuelos, because he was just THAT good. Quite an intriguing title we have to say. And quite an impressive impression of Consuelos on the ladies as well. But in her latest book, Ripa has revealed the truth behind the headline.
Kelly Ripa recalls her “crass, gross, and salacious” anecdote
Kelly Ripa recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about and promote her latest book. Jimmy Fallon and Ripa have been friends for quite some time now and it didn’t take long for the former to immediately poke at the story of the day.
“There are so many funny, great stories here and a couple have already made headlines. One that we could say. There was one about you and your husband… uh… yeah, having…”, Fallon said with a phony hesitation. Ripa came to his rescues, adding, “Yeah, intercourse.”
Ripa went on to say, “It sounds so crass and it sounds so gross and salacious. And it is all of those things. But, at the heart of it, it’s about -“. And then the actress completely broke her chain of thought and went into the details of what all went down.

Kelly Ripa went on to unravel the truth behind the so-called legends of her husband’s now-proclaimed sexual prowess of wearing out his wife in bed.
“We had just had a baby. And I think that a lot of women that have just had babies are never quite sure what goes where ever again or how it’s going to work or will it ever feel normal? And I was one of those women, and unfortunately for my poor husband, Mark Consuelos, who is a great hero in this story – He really is a hero. No wonder he’s been promoting this book so much. He’s the hero of the story.”
Fallon adds in saying, “I love Mark… He comes off fantastically cool in every story.”
“Sorry everyone if you’re having your dessert right now,” Ripa then went on to say, “I had an ovarian cyst. I didn’t know I had an ovarian cyst. And during the “love-making” I jumped up, fell, and hit my head. And he did not know what to do. He panicked… He calls 911 and then dresses me incredibly badly… He snakes me into a Capezio ballet leotard.”
To this, Fallon asks flabbergasted, “He didn’t have sweatpants around or anything?” Ripa, all worked up, answered, “Yes, I did. I had a whole closet full of sweatpants and T-shirts.” She then went on to describe the rest of the outfit that Consuelos assembled on his unconscious wife. “Then he puts on his side-snap soccer pants in case we want to pick up a game somewhere… And then, and then the pièce de résistance are the patent-leather red Manolo Blahnik platform heels.”
Quite a runway look Consuelos put up for his wife there, and that too for an ambulance ride? That’s an attentive husband if there ever was one. Anyways, the finale is yet to come. Ripa went on to conclude the tale, narrating that while in the ambulance, the paramedics whispered on their phone, “A prostitute has died,” naturally alluding to Ripa’s avant-garde look.
Both the audience and Jimmy Fallon himself roared with a cackle of laughter, and that is the story of Kelly Ripa ending up as an unconscious prostitute…
