His chemistry with the Money Talks actor not only made the audience laugh but also made them friends for life. Chris Tucker was awestruck by the riches of his Rush Hour co-star when he met him in China.

Chris Tucker Was Amazed By Jackie Chan’s Popularity In China

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the Air actor spoke about the advantages of being friends with one of the most influential and wealthy men in China. Chris Tucker mentioned that Jackie Chan paid him a visit during his stay in China with his son. The Friday actor was baffled by the number of hotels, The Karate Kid star owned. Chris Tucker explained-

“My son is studying Mandarin in High School, So he wanted to go to China and I couldn’t back out. He said ‘You know Jackie Chan Daddy we got to go.’ So we went there, Jackie took care of us. We went to a different restaurant every night. He’s the man, Jackie owned everything. He’s like, ‘You like hotel? He said You like hotel?’ I said yeah, ‘It’s my hotel that’s my hotel.’ So I got to do more movies.”

Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan came together for Rush Hour in 1998. Over the years, the action-comedy movie went on to entertain its audience with second and third installments too. According to the rumors in the entertainment world, the fourth installment of Rush Hour is in development, but there has been no confirmation of this. While talking about his upcoming projects, Chris Tucker mentioned-

“You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level. That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… ‘Rush Hour 4,’ that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it.”

Rush Hour 3 was released in 2007 and the for the past fifteen years, the die-hard fans of the action-comedy franchise are desperately waiting for the upcoming installment to see their favorite comic pair on screen.

Jackie Chan Signed A Poor Contract Out Of Desperation

Jackie Chan has been entertaining the world for the past six decades with his terrific comic timing, stunts, and unusual acting method. With a mammoth fan following across the globe, the Police Story actor’s net worth stands at a staggering value of $400 million. In his autobiography, Never Grow Up, the 69-year-old star has mentioned his struggle in the acting industry. Previously, he was just a stuntman and gradually made his way to the big and small roles in Hollywood projects.

Jackie Chan signed his first big contract with director Lo Wei for the 1976 released movie New Fist Of Fury. According to the contract, he was paid $6000 per month, which was not that bad during the 70s.

“It was for two years, with a monthly salary of $3000 plus an additional $3000. Looking back, it was a stingy contract, but at that time, it seemed fair”

The actor still feels that the pay was exceptionally low in order to deal with other expenses. For the Academy Honorary Award winner, the journey from being a stuntman to one of the wealthiest names in Hollywood is an inspiring one.
