SUMMARY
  • Nicki Minaj is one of those artists who believes in being transparent with her fans as much as she can.
  • She kicked at her photographer's camera during her concert in San Antonio thinking it was someone random.
  • She has taken a dig at laid-off Atlantic Records employees and also announced her new album.

Nicki Minaj does not seem to be interested in getting off the headlines anytime soon by the looks of it. Not that anyone is complaining about it given that she is one of the best female rappers out there. She made a name for herself in the industry solely with her talent as a rap artist.

Another thing Minaj is widely known for is her courage in boldly expressing her opinions. Although this often makes her the target of backlash, she continues to be honest about how she feels and usually does not hesitate to admit if she makes a mistake. Recently, she kicked her photographer during one of her concerts thinking he was a peeper. She has made sure to apologize for it, but the moment has surely gone viral on the internet.

In a world that is a little too full of cameras in the modern age, it is rather hard even for celebrities to avoid invasive snapshots. Every now and then, there is news of a celebrity getting clicked at a private outing.

News reports about someone filming inappropriate videos of a female singer while she was doing her job at a concert are also not that uncommon. Case in point: Shakira walked off the stage at a nightclub after noticing someone filming her from an inappropriate angle (via Page Six).

Nicki Minaj thought something similar was happening during her concert in San Antonio when she saw a camera filming her from below while she was on the stage. In a moment of confusion and panic, she kicked at the camera. She posted a video of the same recently.

The cameraman can be clearly heard saying, “Ow, that’s me! No!” before his camera flies out of his hands. Later, in her Instagram post, Minaj clarified that it was her own photographer, Alex Loucas (Grizz), and even apologized to him.

The video is now going viral on the internet and fans are sympathizing with the photographer online. Some even pointed out that perhaps such things happen quite often with the Super Freaky Girl singer. Here is what some of them had to say:

The fact that she did this with her photographer is definitely a little concerning. It is good to know that she apologized to him afterward. However, such an incident can happen to anyone who is constantly at risk of being inappropriately filmed.

Nicki Minaj Mocked Laid-off Atlantic Records Employees

Not so long ago, Minaj took to her X account to voice her opinion about next year’s Super Bowl Halftime show in New Orleans having Kendrick Lamar perform instead of Lil Wayne. She went on a heated rant about how it is unjust to Wayne. She seemed to attack Jay-Z by the looks of it.

Now, her target seems to be the laid-off employees of Atlantic Records. She posted on X mocking the music industry officials. She even asked them to submit their resumes to her own label, Heavy on It, although she probably does not mean it.

That said, she also announced her new album on X as she claimed that she will no longer be releasing a deluxe version of her album Pink Friday 2. Instead, she will release a completely new album. As long as she gives her fan new music, they will most probably not complain.
