The singer has appeared as a backup dancer for artists including Nelly Furtado and Pharrell Williams. Prince mentored DaniLeigh after she directed a video of his single Breakfast Can Wait.

The singer made a brief appearance in Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer and later choreographed DaBaby’s music video BOP on Broadway. Her musical style is inspired by hip-hop and Latin, with R&B being the core. The singer shares a daughter with DaBaby, with whom she parted ways in 2021. DaniLeigh is back in the news after an old video of her from her DUI hit-and-run arrest was released.
DaniLeigh believes she ‘cannot be arrested because she’s a singer‘
According to TMZ reports, back in May 2023, singer-songwriter DaniLeigh was arrested in Miami Beach after it was reported that she had hit an individual who was riding a moped. The report mentioned that the artist was seen by various witnesses driving at a high speed and eventually struck somebody.
The individual who was on a motorized scooter was dragged for about a block. The policemen who arrived at the scene conducted a field sobriety test, and she failed, after which she took a Breathalyzer. The officer shared with TMZ at the time that she blew a 0.145 and 0.148, which is twice the legal limit. She was booked on 3 felony charges.

Now, bodycam footage of the artist has been released where she is seen talking to the authorities, who ask her if she hit the scooter, and she replies she did not. The officer directed the singer to exit the vehicle before he handcuffed her, and she said,
I’m an artist. I’m a R&B singer, and you’re trying to arrest me. What’s going on?
Quavo is also seen in the video asking the officer what had happened, and after the officers asked them to back up, he complied. As a result, she was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge in February. DaniLeigh was also charged with a count of DUI causing serious injury and leaving the scene of a crime. Her attorney, Michael Catalano, shared with XXL Magazine,
She wasn’t really at fault in the accident, and she didn’t know how she hit someone, but there was damage to the car. She wants to say, ‘I’m really sorry about this’, but the victim has a lawyer, and we never let people talk because it can be held against them.
Catalano added that the truth is that the gentleman who got hurt was at fault, and she is very apologetic about it and feels horrible that somebody got hurt.
Resurfaced news shows DaBaby accused Dani Leigh of assault
After the bodycam footage of DaniLeigh from May 2023 was released, in which she says that she cannot be charged because she’s a singer, the fans dug up her past and found that she was accused of assault by her former boyfriend DaBaby.
According to USA Today, cops in Charlotte, North Carolina, they had responded to a domestic abuse call by DaBaby, claiming that DaniLeigh had assaulted him. The next morning, the cops received a call that reported a disturbance from the same house. The singer was charged with two counts of simple assault.

The former couple went live on their respective social media trying to explain to the public their issue, which according to DaniLeigh was about the rapper putting her and their baby out. DaBaby later mentioned that he is a very dutiful father and loves his kids. The singer mentioned that she and her daughter have left DaBaby’s house and are safe.
There have been reports of DaniLeigh’s brother Brandon Bills suing DaBaby for $4 million in damages over the alleged 2022 assault. According to InTouch Weekly, Bills was at Southern California’s bowling alley when Baby attacked him. A video of them fighting was shared online, and the police launched an investigation regarding the situation. However, no charges were brought, and Bills filed a civil lawsuit against DaBaby.
It has been reported that DaniLeigh’s two charges, i.e., leaving the scene of the crime and additional DUI charges, will be dismissed if she manages to complete her five years of probation with any violations.
